Sometimes I wish recipes told you the serving size for using the dish as a side instead of a main. I am looking at a pasta salad recipe and it uses 2lbs of pasta and says it feeds 6 people. I ASSUME that is as a main dish, was I can't imagine people consuming that much in addition to the billion other sides at a BBQ.
brooklyn - any fun plans while you are in MD? Where will you be staying?
My aunt and uncle have a house in Davidsonville with a pool, so we'll spending the weekend vegging there. And I have a cousin 8 months older than J, so they have a blast together. I would have reached out for a gtg, but we won't have our own car out there.
J and I slept until 730. It was glorious. H was already up and showering. I am finally getting my phone screen fixed at the Apple Store. The only problem is I have to hang out in the mall for 2ish hours. I think I can make that work
Either the babysitter last night didn't completely latch DD's bedroom gate (we didn't look that closely when we got home) or DD can now open her gate. Hoping the former or else we're so screwed.

That's like 30 minutes from me, apparently (I had to look it up .
8:37am and I am finally on my way to the gym, despite my family's best efforts to thwart me. DH was absurdly difficult to wake-up because of his jet lag, so that set me back. (I needed him to give DS breakfast.) then, as I was pulling on my workout pants, DD woke up and gave me a guilt trip about how I should stay home and play with her. (She will be out for a large chunk of the day with DH). Aaaaah!
But I am now less than a block away from the gym, where I haven't been in almost two weeks.
Cue my weekly complaint about fucking pets. I'm up because they insist on being fed and start being destructive and annoying if it doesn't happen on time. C's still asleep. Ugggggggh.
We have no plans whatsoever today. Maybe we'll run a few errands while H is at work to kill some time?
My dogs are assholes too. One starts whining and pacing at 5:45, but of course only on my side of the bed. He acts like he's fucking starving.
I want to start a Saturday morning tradition with DD, so I think I'm going to take her to the amazing donut shop in town then to the dinosaur park. After that we'll head to the hospital so she can meet her new cousin!!
Hopefully she naps today so I can clean and get more of the house unpacked.
I think we are going to buy a new car today! Or not. The dealership won't tell us until we get there (they say they are figuring it out) how long it will take them to get the color we want and I'm not waiting months for it when I can buy it now at a dealership an hour away.
How do people travel frequently with little ones?? We drove 4 hours last night to my aunt's house. We got here and of course DS caught his second wind, as expected. He started showing tired signs and then fought sleep for the next 2 hours. He finally caved around midnight and slept for a good 5 hour stretch with a few cries here and there. Today we'll continue on the next leg of our trip- 5 hours to my mom's house.
We last traveled with him in October. It was miserable then, and so far, this isn't shaping up to be much better. I can only hope that my mom will finally see that it's SO much easier for her to jump on a plane than it is for us to bring DS (and all of his gear) to her. Mind you, DH & I are completely unnecessary in his journey, as my mom is only concerned with her grandson. At least I may get a chance to do a little shopping alone. Nordstrom (new bras!) here I come!!
You are doing it wrong. Driving is impossible. Flying is much easier. I will fly anywhere with dd but barely survive the 10 minute drive home from daycare.

@vicmo cincodemayo I'm starting the June pregnancy pact today! We leave for Germany in 5 hours! My IUD was removed onbTuesday.
Of course, my period should have started on Tuesday and didn't, so it'll probably be a bust for TTC until my next cycle starts. (I POAS as due diligence, not KU).

That much pasta would feed 8 as a main dish. I would imagine it would feed at least 16 as a side.
Trying to will myself to get out of bed. I got good sleep--10-8 with about 1.5 hours awake to pump. But still not moving.
DS is amazingly still sleeping. Little dude must have been tired. He slept through the night pretty much--8-4:45. I don't think he's been awake again for another bottle but DH may have given him one while I was sleeping. It's 8:20.
And super random--WTF to Gerber brand sizing. I knew it ran small so I bought some 12 month onesies DS can wear down the road. When they came out or the dryer, they look the exact same size as the Carter 6! I guess he'll be wearing them now.
Like @roseposey, my first thought on Francis for a girl was "isn't that Baby's name in Dirty Dancing?" That said, I went to high school with a girl named Franny and she was awesome.

I am waiting for a pedicure. Made appt at 930 when they first opened and they told me 20 minute wait. I have stuff to do people. What is the point of an appt if you make me wait 20 minutes. Bah
I'm at Panera with DD and was trying not to be on my phone. But DD takes FOREVER to eat. And she's too busy worrying about everyone else's breakfast so here I am.
