My parents are in town and brought my nephew which has royally screwed up Blake's bedtime routine. My typically easy to get down boy has gone with a hysterical fight for the past two nights in a row. I knew he was strong enough to crawl out of his crib (because he has crawled into it before) but I don't think it ever occurred to him as a possibility.
For the past two nights he has jumped out of his crib and come running back into the living room. I talked myself off the ledge because this is temporary and he won't be pissed going to bed from now on, so it won't be an issue.
But then, as I filled up my cup of coffee this morning, I head tiny feet coming down the hall. "Hi mama! I do it all by myself!" Sad panda over here . I am excited about putting together his big boy room, but didn't want to actually make that switch until at least the end of the summer. This kid having free range of the house freaks me out!

I'm picturing him coming in saying , "I do it all by myself".
C was in a crib until January when we converted to toddler. Now he gets up in the middle of the night and gets in our bed. It's become a habit and I'm not proud.
Oh nooooo. I feel you. It was a super sad day when A did this. I will say though that it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought so I hope Blake is the same!

This is what I'm scared of! I need my space and my husband, dog, and snoogle already take up way too much of it. There is no room for another body!
Logan started climbing out a couple weeks ago And for the most part it hasn't been that bad. He hasn't climbed out in the middle of the night yet. We've had a couple rough bedtimes when he was worked up/not very tired. He climbs out most mornings now, but he's waking up his normal time and H likes not having to go get him.
I'll never forget the look on Abby's face the morning I walked into her room to see her sitting on her changing table. "Look, Mommy!" She was so proud.
We use the baby gate for Caleb's room. Of course, it means in the middle of the night, he gets up and stands at the door, calling, "Help me!" until we let him in our room, but it contains him a bit.
Aw man, I'm sorry! I didn't watch to switch Lincoln but he really surprised me with how well he did. Bedtime was so much easier after we made the switch and he stayed in bed.

The middle of the night wakeups is why we have a toddler cot in our room. P gets to choose between going back to sleep in her bed and sleeping on the cot. We have even had some nights where B has bad nightmares and he is sleeping in a "nest" (comforter and other blankets piled on floor) on our floor, too. As long as they aren't physically in my bed (where they toss, turn, and stick limbs into you), it doesn't interrupt my sleep that much.

Bahahaha! Let me clarify, he has thrown toys in it and then crawled into it to play-NOT to sleep or rest in any form or fashion. It usually ends with him using the mattress as a trampoline and doing butt bombs.
