I don't know how to title this. I'm trying to take a few baby steps towards losing some weight and improving my fitness. I am so, so, out of shape, and I have never in my life been particularly fit, but I used to be able to keep up with Zumba classes, etc. I want to start working out again (went walking today), but would also like something I could do at home. 30day shred is way too hard for me, I can't do it. Is there a good workout video for someone like me?
They're both beach body. But I like piyo. Very low impact. And also 21 day fix. Higher impact but you get small breaks thruout the workout that is a godsend for me.

OMG NO. Do not buy extreme. I am reasonably fit now and it still scares me.
Fitness Blender is a great place to start for beginner exercises for sure. I also ditto ECB with the two from BB. I started out 21DF after not working out for a year (I just walked) and while it was challenging in the beginning, the breaks really are very helpful. Plus there are modifiers for each exercise to make it easier.
I like Suzanne Bowen's DVDs, mostly for her upbeat, encouraging attitude. Her newest cardio one demos modifications for beginning, intermediate, and advanced exercisers, so you can choose accordingly.
When I first did 30DS, I did it 3 days a week and totally "phoned it in" (God I still hate that expression). I also did video one for like 3 weeks. I used soup cans as weights. So that is always an option too I was more serious about it the second time through once I was stronger.
I love piyo too so I have to chime in. My gym offers it so I'm not familiar with the DVD but I've been doing it for over a year now and it's grown with me while I've gotten in better shape. Plus there's lots of stretching so I get that blissed out endorphin high like I do from yoga. It really is one of those that you can make as hard it as easy as you need to.
Good luck! Working on myself has been one of the best things I've done recently. It's helping make me a more patient parent.

Thanks, everyone for all the replies and suggestions! I REALLY appreciate them all. I feel inspired to move forward. And I am pleasantly surprised that there ARE workouts for unfit people. I honestly thought everything was for fit people. Dumb, I guess. I think for now the walking series seems like a good fit and I can pick up a few from the library. We are very 1990s around here and don't have Netflix, Hulu, roku, etc., lol.

Can the piyo people tell me more about it? I took a yoga class once (not one class but like a 6 or 8 week session) and hated it because I didn't feel like I was working out at all. I think the instructor was just poor and I wasn't doing it right but she never corrected me. Is piyo where you have to get the positions right for it to do anything? In the past I was more of a Zumba/Cairo funk girl where it didn't matter much if I got a step wrong as long as I kept moving. ECBholly116.

Piyo moves much quicker than yoga and uses your own body weight for resistance, I'm definitely sweating but it's more strength and stretch than straight up cardio, although there are portions of the class that get your heart rate up.
My background is dance and I love Zumba. I've never done yoga on its own so I'm sure I'm not doing all the positions perfectly. Doesn't matter, it still works! I feel like I'm more flexible now too.
