Lol. I bought Neapolitan ice cream for like, the first time ever recently. I used to only stick to chocolates but I guess my tastes are changing and I've been craving both strawberry and vanilla lately. So Neapolitan seemed like the logical choice and it was delicious. I try to get two flavors in each bite. Yum.
I haven't had neopolitan ice cream in years, but I totally ate it the same way you do @tambcat. A couple of bites here and there, and then I mix it all together until it's like softserve. When I was a teenager I would throw in a couple of crumbled two bite brownies for good measure. Oh my god, I so wish I could eat like that again.
1. Neapolitan is completely disgusting. My mom bought it all the time as a kid because "it's like having 3 flavors of ice cream all at once! So it's better!" No. I'd rather have no ice cream at all, than Neapolitan.
2. Fruit doesn't belong in ice cream. It belongs in a dish, fresh, or in a pie. Do not ruin my ice cream with fruit. **the only exception being Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip, and even that is borderline for me.**
