I think I might be having contractions but I'm not sure. I had none on my own with H and by the time they really started I had an epi. I only know what pitocin contractions felt like during two hours when my epi fell out.

We are watching Planet Earth with Ada for the first time. She watched an entire episode and asked for another. So far no deaths have scared her, she just thinks they are sleeping or playing.

Apparently I am so NOT a pet person... someone's dog has been barking and HOWLING NON-STOP since about 11 this morning. I'm not even exaggerating. They must be a fair ways down the block because it doesn't sound that close. But I'm about to lose my shit.
Massive flooding in some Austin areas (not here, just super crazy wet), with yet another giant storm system coming through tomorrow. How is it for you guys bridgilly?
We are in Houston for the weekend so we've missed all of the bad weather. My neighbor told me there was a tornado alert for our area last night. I hope it doesn't affect our drive back tomorrow.

I know they had to close I35 in San Marcos at one point last night because of the flooding. I think the worst is going to hit between noon and 5 here tomorrow. Be safe! My mom is also driving home through Texas tomorrow and I had to make sure she would stop if it got too bad.
Grrrhhh!! We invited friends over to grill tomorrow and I decided to take the easy way out and throw together a red velvet cupcake box mix to save on time. I'm so disappointed. I don't know if I'm too used to a homeade taste, but the icing is simply nasty. We'll still have plenty of food, but I'm aggravated now.
On a less superficial note, for the U.S. probies how are you guys explaining the meaning of tomorrow's holiday, or are you?

I love dogs, but that would make me murderous.
H just told me that on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when he drops Jack off at daycare the howling has already started by 9am. Other days we have all left the house by 7:30 and I haven't noticed it. It's actually closer than I thought--he says it is the neighbours 2 doors down from us. Is this normal? Or is this dog likely being mistreated or neglected to be barking and howling all day long like this? I'm about to file a complaint because I can't take it anymore.

Is it outside?
Sometimes it is in the yard, other times it must be in the house with the windows open (I think that is also why sometimes it sounds like it is further away).

It likely has separation anxiety. We used to live in a duplex, where it was split between the first and second stories and our upstairs neighbor had a dog that howled from the minute they left, to the minute they came home. They ended up having to rehome it to a family that was actually home at all, because it was not a happy dog.
We're at H's family's cabin. I hate nursing W here because I can't just pop my boob out like I do at home. Trying to cover up makes us both hot and annoyed.
rxbeth The only thing that works for me Motn is the fact that I put him down iin whichever orientation I last had him on, so I know when I pick him up that he goes to the opposite side. During the day I have to go with the feel myself up method to know which side to offer.

My boobs feel the same during the day, full or drained so I can't rely on that!

Ack! I always offer the "weakest" one if I can't remember in hopes that things will even out and I won't be quite so lopsided
I showed H @jnoelles name post. H: how about Gideon? Me: great name, but I dated someone named Gideon once. H: right. Can't have that then. Let's just eliminate the names of anyone you've ever kissed, ok? Me: ::long pause:: ok. We got married at 33... H: ::long pause:: ok...so he'll just have a foreign name then. (Grins at me) Feeling a tad slutty, yep.
