In our new kitchen, we're going to have oak units, black granite worktops and any units that are showing will be stainless steel. I'm trying to think about what tiles would look good with this setup. Here's a pic of the sort of kitchen cabinet we'll have:
We'll probably do a blue/green as the paint colour (still deciding on that), but my H and I are torn on tiles. Any thoughts?
The beige tiles in the picture work with the cabinets but a grey or white tile would probably also work. I like neutral tiles best. They're boring but they also work with everything so they tend to be greener compared to something trendy or taste-specific that the next owner will tear out.
What kind of colors do you like? Bold or is your style more subtle?
I know a lot of the magazines that I see from the UK seem to have bold colors and really different styles of tile than what is more common here in the US, so I am kind of curious. I love fun colors and/or interesting patterns. I see a lot of european tiles that I love in magazines or online, then can't find them here.
I am trying to stay neutral I like to use a mosaic that mixes different neutrals and multi surfaces (glass and stone, maybe with different types/colors of stone), so that it is interesting but still versatile.

Thanks for the ideas! I have no idea what floor tiles we'll use at all and we're only going to tile a small section on the wall. We won't go for crazy colours, so I think the subway tiles might be good in the one area we're tiling.
