It's crazy here in Houston. The street one over from us is completely flooded--knee high. There have also been two major fires break out in the midst of the storm.
Damn, TX is still getting hammered. They are asking the fans that were at the playoff basketball game in Houston to stay in the stadium and not go home! Was pagas there? This weather is so scary and unpredictable;(
It's awful all over the state. A huge tree fell and missed my brother's house by about a foot on Saturday and he still does not have power.
My XH lives on the same river where all this happened and he's ok, but the road to his house got washed over. People are stuck all over the place because so many roads have been washed out. Austin is a disaster right now from what j can gather on Facebook. We've been getting hammered in CO too. I hope this system moves along soon.

It's a huge ass system, and I know that's part of the issue b/c the grounds in TX can't take anymore. I know we are expected to have rain for the next 2-3 days.
In my hometown (Corpus Christi) it has been raining nonstop pretty much for what seems like months, flooding nearly daily because of the saturation. Here in Denver we have had one of the wettest springs on record, and it's supposed to keep on going all week. I hope it chills out as it makes its way eastward to you.

We made it home. Our friend is still there and dh wants to go back and get him. I am trying to talk him out of it. Luckily, we love super close. Rockets had set up a shelter in the arena.
Tornado was spotted last night less than 10 miles from my house. We got hit pretty hard between 6pm and 8pm. The sunset was beautiful though; the rain slowed just enough to let us see that. But it still stormed throughout the night. Woke up to a pretty morning.
My neighborhood here in CC was fortunate to miss the worst of the storm damage. There was tornado damage less than a mile from me, and peoples houses flooding in the same area. I know we needed the water here in TX, but I think we are good now. It can stop anytime. My niece and her friend were here for the weekend from Austin and we have all been obsessively watching flood videos from up there. They just left and I'm hoping their drive home is uneventful.
My brother lives about a mile from you and still doesn't have power. He and all his animals and his gf are now staying at my mom's. A gigantic tree nearly took out his house on Saturday. Crazy. Glad you haven't had any weather nightmares! I feel so bad for all the farmers down there. Between floods in Texas and droughts in CA it's going to be a shitty harvest season.
No updates this morning but I just talked to my mom and she heard that the weather is more cooperative up in central TX today so hopefully that helps with the rescue efforts.

We were all told to work from home today. Only a few braved the roads to head in. My main way out of the neighborhood floods in light rains. It was so bad I moved dd's car up into the driveway around 11:30 last night as the street was flooded and it was still pouring. One of my coworker's had her house flood 3 feet and both cars are flooded as well. I can't believe this is as bad as tropical storm Allison and it was just a thunderstorm. I don't know how long it's going to take the city to drain and the thought of even more rain makes me sick. My heart goes out to those who have lost their lives and those who are still missing.

Are they in Hays county? I have been keeping the missing and their families in my thoughts. If they are in hays county we are in the area, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Yes they were in Hays when they got swept away. J is in SA now at the hospital. 250 or so people have gone up from Corpus to contribute to the search. You're very sweet to offer help, I'm far away so I have no idea where the need is greatest. I know there are a bunch of supply drives and such. I heard reports of lots of snakes and dsngerous debris in the wreckage. When I went through a flood and lost my house I was most appreciative of the people who came out with water and snacks because I had none of that and the local grocery store to me was also destroyed. Maybe something like that?
As far as I know, there's not much more to report at this time. Earlier I heard there were two unidentified bodies found but no further info on that. This is just so awful.

I was hoping my internet would still be out today as an excuse to not work so I could help but it came back on last night and since my company expects you to work on your death bed, I didn't have an excuse where I really couldn't work.
I will head out this weekend to help if there is still need. If you get any info on how I can help directly aside from the general info feel free to PM me.
I'm so sorry your going through this and for everyone who has lost something of significance to them. I can't imagine what they are going through.
