I would probably stay home. It's a very quick spreading thing.
How careful are you being? Are you touching his face/eye with your bare hands? If you are, you need to wash your hands every time. Using the same towel on him and yourself? Doooon't.
You have to be SUPER careful for yourself. Change the pillow/crib sheet every time he's done using it-so after every nap and every morning. Clean wash cloth and towel each time you wash his face. Loveys he might snuggle on his face. All of it. Wash your hands after you touch anything his face has touched. Sheets, wash cloths, towels, blankets. Basically, you'll be doing a lot of laundry for a few days, but that's the only way to prevent it from spreading or reinfecting him.

Great:( so i probably shouldn't be laying down with him right....pillowcase didn't even occur to me
yeah...that's not a great thing. Fingers crossed you're in the clear! Go change it now and wash your hands!
What i did when N had it was accumulate the "pink eye" stuff all day, then do one load at the end of the day. Except her loveys. I probably threw those in with a regular load so that she could have them for bedtimes.
Watch stuffed animals too. If you can limit how many he snuggles with, that will help the laundry!
OH! And couch cushions, the arms, and throw pillows of the couch. My kids like to lay on those when they watch tv, but they're not easy to wash, so I had a little baby blanket I'd put between them and the pillow so I could easily toss it in the washer and it didn't take up too much space.
If he's young enough to contain 100% in a stroller, I might take him. Especially if he's getting a cold (viral)/allergies (allergic) and this is likely not the more contagious bacterial version. DS often got viral after/along with colds.
That said, pink eye can cause photophobia, so be sure he has sunglasses if you take him outside.

If it is pink eye, you will likely get it, but it isn't a big deal it is more gross than painful or long lasting. Both times Henry got it we all got it. But that being said,'I would go to a parade if he feels up to it.

Pink eye is very easily spread. They have over the counter pink eye drops here in the states. Might be worth a trip to the drugstore. See if anything is available.

I would skip the parade since he's not on antibiotics, sorry. Pink eye is super contagious. My bil got it from my son after he shared a pillow with him.
My eyes are the first to get hit with allergies. I won't even sneeze or cough but my eyes will swell, turn red and itch like crazy. Sounds like he is the same.
There are allergy eyedrops that you can find at the pharmacy otc that are great. I would look for those.
