I ran my second half marathon in two weeks yesterday. Before I started training for them, I decided that the first race was going to be my "goal time" race...I wanted to run it in 1:45 (9 minutes faster than last year). Race day came, and my time was 1:48. Still a PR of 6 minutes. I wasn't super happy, but whatever, I knew I had another race in 2 weeks.
Fast forward to yesterday. I stayed with the 1:45 minute pacer the entire time, and ran past her the last mile. I came in at 1:44.30!!! 4 minutes faster than two weeks ago, and a 10 minute PR from last year's race. I'm super excited! My 4:00am workouts and training are paying off
Now it's time to start training for my full marathon. I would ultimately like to qualify for Boston, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to maintain the pace I ran yesterday for another 13.1 miles. A girl can dream, though. Lol!
Awesome awesome! Great times, and I'm glad you were able to meet your goal! I have a half in October. I can't imagine running a full! My friend almost qualified for Boston last year, but she cramped up and missed it by a few minutes.

That's what I'm nervous about...missing the qualifying time by a few minutes. I just keep telling myself that if I don't qualify, there will be plenty of times to try again.
