I would check on her every 10-15 minutes but yes with a fully fenced in yard I would allow it I think at least in short bursts
I think its definitely kid dependent though, Matilda is generally predictable. She likes being around others/other kids so she wouldn't stray from the pack/run off randomly.
My main concern is traffic, then being hurt by a bigger kid, then kidnapping. But I think kidnapping is statistically so unlikely I try not to dwell on it though my mind does go there.
Maybe not 15 minutes. Maybe i would start at 5 and work my way up. I assume after five minutes of no sighting I'd begin to panic slightly. Then see her and relax for another 5. But perhaps I could work my way up to 15
I agree with your decision @therealmc . L & B are really good about watching R, but even with that I would want to be able to see her at all times. I am way over cautious & I am trying to break out of my comfort zone too. It is part of the reason I like our house being the hang out spot, I know I will always keep an eye on everyone. Having 10 extra kids was exhausting & I didn't get any of my stuff done, but everyone had a blast.
