MIL brought over 'bean bake'. It's three kinds of beans, bacon, ground beef, and a sweet sauce. So freaking yummy. I am going to be really gassy tonight.

My H insisted on charcoal (the taste...); meanwhile, I've always been a gas grill girl. And my husband never wants to grill out b/c of the time/ what a pain to wait on charcoal/ etc. Gah!!! You're the one who insisted on charcoal!! Needless to say, I'm insisting that our next big purchase (anniversary perhaps?) is a gas grill. I'm a grill addict, & I hate that I let him make the charcoal call, yet he legitimately only uses it 2-3x a year. The grill thread inspired me. I will be purchasing a gas grill by the end of the summer!!

I did the Pioneer Woman's recipe because of what I had on hand and that I really wanted to use pork. It was sooooooo good. I made them bigger than she suggested and baked them in the oven instead of on the stovetop. I also went all the way to the store just to get milk for the recipe then forgot to put it in, lol. But really, best meatballs I've ever had.

I'm with your H, I think charcoal taste way better but I'd rather have a gas grill than not grill at all!

This sounds so good, like adult beanie weanies! Do you have the recipe?
1/2 lb ground beef 1 small onion, chopped 6 slices bacon, diced 1 15 oz can baked beans (calls for pork and beans, but she used Van Kamp's baked beans) (not drained) 1 15 oz can lima beans, drained and rinsed 1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup bbq sauce (she used original sweet baby ray's) 1 tsp. dry mustard
Cook ground beef, onion, and bacon in a large skillet until beef and bacon are cooked. Drain fat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake covered at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.
Yeah, we pretty much use our oven for it's warming drawer function to warm plates in the winter. Oh wait, I did use it to bake a quiche on Easter. I think that's the last time the poor oven got any regular use, lol.
We went to a 4 year old's bday party that was not ML approved. 2 bowls of chips, 2 (!!!) pizzas, some Capri sons and bottled water and not enough beer. 50 people, 2pm-5pm, so not dinner time, whatever. So weird, since they sprang for pony rides, a giant bouncy house and a superhero-costume guy.
