Didn't Joe Biden compare it to a 3rd world country at some point in the last year or so? I've never been to LaGuardia, but I remember hearing something like that.
It is the worst airport. We spent an hour on the tarmac last time we were there because there was no gate available. It isn't like they knew we were coming or anything...

Oh man, I haven't been in LaGuardia - but the worst one I've been in was in Miami - the bathrooms made me want to puke. Seriously, there were like 20 stalls and half didn't have TP, most had unflushed contents, and 2 (2!) had used personal products sitting unwrapped on the floor! If I have a choice I will never NEVER fly in/out or have a layover at that airport.

Yeah, it's nasty.
Then you have nicely renovated airports in places like Pittsburg and Cincinatti going relatively unused. I think it's safe to say airlines won't be moving out of LGA anytime soon, it's a shame more resources aren't funneled there.

LaGuardia Airport is God's Armpit. OH. And there is no fucking bar past security. I had to spend 15 hours there the day after Easter one year and I am pretty sure I will go straight to heaven when I die because I have now dealt with purgatory.
Now, whenever I go to visit my NY relatives, I fly Delta into LGA, because then you go to the marine terminal, where there are no people, like, three gates, and a nice little bar and snack shop so I can eat AND get my "You really want me nice and buzzed before I fly" cocktails.
lol, one of the Yelp reviews calls it "Penn Station with wings."
Now that's not fair to Penn Station. Penn at least has bars, shops and places to eat. In college when I interned at my Dad's company in NYC, the fried egg sandwich I would get at Penn was the highlight of my day!
It's awful. My sister just connected through there on her very first flight and was completely grossed out. I had to assure her that they aren't all like that

It's sad that the Cincy airport is so dead now. It's like a ghost town in there. Although Allegiant and Frontier are taking up so many gates now, maybe it will get better.
there was an editorial in the NYT a few weeks ago about it. The title was "Don’t Rehab La Guardia Airport. Close It."
It's awful, but it was 5 minutes from my apartment in Queens and it took zero time to get through security whenever I flew for business. Huge bonuses for me, but it is a total shithole.

Agreed. Penn is much better. It's actually more like the Port Authority Bus terminal which is also pretty gross.
MSP spoils a person. I think Newark is more gross though.
No, Newark's not bad. At least not C Terminal, which is what I usually use. And it makes a heck of a easier flight out than having to go to LaGuardia or JFK.
I just booked tickets this week for our vacation over Labor Day. Had to chose between Detroit and LaGuardia for a layover . After reading this I'm glad I picked Detroit.
Yeah, it's not bad. I usually just use Denver, Raleigh & Vegas which have clean, nice airports. The only one in NYC I've been to is the TWA terminal at JFK & I'm obsessed with it (unsurprisingly).

Yup, so disgusting. Zero food options, who only has one food vendor for the whole airport! When I was pregnant, I flew in and out every week for 8 weeks straight. All I wanted was ice cream, nothing, it was so disappointing. That's the only good thing about flying, eating food I wouldn't normally have.
The only people I know who use LaGuardia don't live here.
That place is a fucking dump.
My friends live on the upper west side and use LaGuardia for shuttle flights from DC to NYC. It is easy! I have never been outside the shuttle terminal but it is clean? And so small and fast. I love it ha ha.
