I have had to reset my laptop to factory settings three times in the last three days because I can't seem to keep the damn automatic update setting turned off.
Microsoft has released an update that kills the keyboard and the mouse touch pad. I'm so fucking frustrated with this (IN THE MIDDLE OF FINALS NO LESS) that I felt like I needed to make an announcement.
Usually, they don't bother me... this time, though... THEY PREVENTED ME FROM USING MY LAPTOP for an entire LONG weekend...FUCKING FUCKERS NEED TO DIE IN A HOT FUCKING FIRE BECAUSE IT"S FINALS WEEK (my very last finals week ever) AND I HAVE NO TIME FOR THIS SHIT!
Three times - 3 fucking times I've reset my laptop to factory settings. I'm fortunate that I was at least able to finangle a way to back up my immediately important files to USB.
And do I get any love from Toshiba Support? NO - Warranty expired, sucker!
I apologize for the capslock...I've been channeling the nugget... and I've been alone in the house, so I've been cursing and screaming to the high heavens while I waited for my laptop to revert to factory settings.
(It's still not up by the way...I'm posting from my work laptop )
No worries I would be flipping my shit if this happend on a long weekend when I had stuff to do. One of my last projects in college my printer died at 3am and sent me in a frenzy to Kinkos to print everything. I understand your anger.
If it still isn't fixed you can send it to my personal server admin/network engineer/hardware specialist (AKA Boyfriend, and have him look at it /back everything up. I would probably die without him.

aw, thanks for the offer It's fixed for now. I have never had a problem with Toshiba laptops before, and this was the absolute worst possible time for something like this to happen. I was able to make a quick back up of my major folders before resetting, so I didn't lose anything but my settings and a couple of free photo/html editing programs.
I posted a message on the Toshiba support forum and haven't really gotten any answers beyond "we're working on a solution". I'm almost certain it's a software issue because when I reset to factory settings, the keyboard/touchpad work just fine. It's only after the updates hit (and I have no idea which update is causing it) that the problems start.
