Damn Facebook. Well I guess I should be thankful for Facebook for revealing someone's true colors.
I just noticed that my dad's neighbor (a close family friend) liked one of the pics that he posted of me and him on vacation. So I just clicked on her profile, which is public.
First, there is a rant about Freddie Gray basically saying it was half his fault and that the cops shouldn't be charged with murder, manslaughter would be more appropriate.
So of course my blood starts boiling. My dad tried to nicely put her in her place with his reply.
Then, I scroll down some more and see this....
"A message to protestors with "Black Lives Matter" signs: There is probably an abortion clinic in your city where these signs would be VERY helpful. Something to think about..."
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK. My family (well mostly my dad now that my parents are separated and my mom moved out) is really good friends with them. They hang out multiple times per week. Obviously it doesn't really matter to me as I only see her once or twice per year now. But I seriously won't be able to look at this lady the same ever again. I don't know how my dad can hang out with her.
She came to my high school graduation party. And she has a daughter that is much younger than me, so she made a short speech saying how she wished her daughter was a little older to appreciate and have me as a role model.
Yeah I'm really wishing that her daughter did have me as a role model now that I see the shit her mom thinks.

What does that even mean? Is she pro-life, too?
All of it is gross.
Yes I assume she's pro-life.
However, I also saw a former FB friend (and actually former IRL good friend) who posted something similar about how more black lives are lost through abortion than cop killings. And I think someone on one of the gbcn boards mentioned a FB friend posting something similar. So apparently there is this common thinking that abortion is a huge problem specifically in the black community and we're just killing our babies

This makes it triple gross. It diminishes the whole "black lives matter" movement and the importance of those deaths, it supports anti-abortion propaganda, and it makes a gross generalization about black women and abortion.
I don't think I'd be able to be civil with that person again
I'm sorry. I hate that people feel this way. I also don't like Facebook because my feelings have changed about several people after reading what they post.
Yes. Especially about old friends and long lost relatives. It goes from "omg, look how cute she looks with her husband and baby" to "dang she is annoying" to "wtf? I had no idea she was a bigoted asshole" so many times. Ugh.
omfg. She's combined two awful things into one thing that's even more awful than the sum of its parts. Disgusting. I agree that I would never be able to be civil with her again.
