I've always been a wash my hair once a day person, but with the dark/red hair I've now been trying to go 2-3 days without washing. In the past I washed it every day mainly because of how my hair looks after sleeping on it. If I pull it back, I end up with a crease; if I sleep with it down, I sweat and it gets even more creases and feels gross.
So, what do you ladies do with your hair when you sleep. Is there a secret kind of hair tie(lol) that won't leave creases? And, if you use a dry shampoo in between washing, what kind is your fav? I've been using pssttt (??) but I don't really like what it does for my hair.
I twist my hair up into a topknot and then secure it with big claw clip. It doesn't get a crease that way. For dry shampoo, my favorite is suave keratin. I've also used the dove dry shampoo and liked that one too. I wash my hair every other day and this method seems to work for me.

I've always found that the best dry shampoos are the powders rather than the aerosols. Pssssst! is my low end go to for aerosol and Tigi Dirty Secret is my high end aerosol. I find the powders last much longer. The Alterna Caviar in the purple bottle tends to be the best powder I've found. One bottle lasts me close to a year. You sprinkle a little (like a dime size in your hand), rub them together, and massage it into your roots. I've found doing that at night allows it to work overnight and makes my hair fresher in the morning. If you truly want a cheap powder option, this comes from the site which we don't mention. Mix 1 part corn starch and 1 part cocoa powder (from the baking aisle) or cinnamon for redheads evenly in a bottle similar to what dry shampoo comes in and use it as I instructed above. It blends with darker hair, the chocolate/cinnamon smell will go away quickly, and works just as well as the expensive stuff. I grabbed one of these bottles at Dollar General for a little over buck and told her boyfriend and son not to eat it since it would be gross. She loves it and uses it constantly and says her hair hasn't felt this good in ages.
As far as sleeping with minimal creases and breakage, I sleep with my hair in a microfiber turban. I flip it forward with dry hair, twist it up, and secure it. It doesn't tangle nearly as much, has zero creases. and breakage is way down. I don't get hot, but our AC is always cranked. It even gives me a little wave to work with in the morning. I can also use it for overnight deep conditioning and have a spare for drying my hair. I actually prefer the Target ones, but the one I linked can be found at CVS and is pretty thin and not nearly as big so it probably wouldn't be nearly as hot. I got used to it after having to sleep in a deep conditioner 1-2 times weekly.

I will chime in that I have dry curly hair and switching to a silk pillowcase has helped tremendously. My hair just slips around when I move. It also helps my face have less sleep wrinkles.
I've been loving Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo. So much better than the Suave dry shampoo. I wish I could sleep with my hair up. The feeling of that lump of whatever is holding it up in the back of my head drives me nuts.
I leave mine loose when sleeping. I use Suave Keratin or Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo in the morning. If I need some more body I do a quick blowdry with paddle brush and then flat iron.
When I wear it wavy, I just scrunch a little with water. So easy
I have to wear my hair up to sleep or I get too hot. If I get a crease I flat iron it out.
My favorite dry shampoo is Big Sexy Hair. I'm using Suave at the moment but it smells too strong and I find myself using it less and less. I'm definitely switching to the powder instead.
I leave mine down. I get bad night sweats, so my hair is usually a mess in the morning. I just pull it straight again while I hit it with the dryer. Then flat iron it. I rarely use dry shampoo, but I have super dry hair so it doesn't really get oily.
I leave mine down, but I sorta lay it above my head just so.
I usually have a crease from wearing it in a bun in the shower though, so I just touch it up with a blow dryer to blow out the crease/kinks, and a quick swipe of a fat curling iron or straightener to finish the ends.

I don't do anything. I wash and style it every day. If I don't, I can't expect it to be good. Just like my skin and my clothes... all are gross the 2nd day.

I use a scrunchie, turns out you can still buy them at Target. I do a bun on the top of my head. I can't quit my Suave dry shampoo, I use a ton of it but it works for me.
I do this, except I use Klorane dry shampoo, the squeeze kind, not the aerosol kind. Although it comes out as white powder, which may not be a good color match to your new color. I also do a silk pillowcase. Still sometimes get a crease, but I do like everyone else and just flatiron the top layer to get it out.
I can go 4-5 days without washing. I put dry shampoo in (I use batiste spray) before I go to bed. Then I use a scrunchie (got them at ultra, they are sort of like terry cloth, super soft) to put it in a loose bun. I workout in the morning so my hair is a sweaty mess when I get home from the gym but I just blow dry it dry then touch up the style. I'll often have a bit of a crease from the pony tail I have to wear to the gym, but a quick blow dry fixes that fine. Still cuts half the time than fully washing and drying each day.
I have very thick, curly hair that I wash 2 or 3 times a week. At night I pile all my hair on top of my head and put a chenille scrunchie around it once. It's just tight enough to hold it without making a dent.
This! I like to have a clean body, clean face, clean hair, clean clothes and clean underwear....every single day. I don't care if daily washing is harsh on my hair - which, I don't think it is anyway - my hair is perfectly healthy; people compliment it all the time. Maybe because I wash it each morning. It takes 2 minutes.
To be fair, though, I don't style it at all - just quickly blow dry before I leave the house. My hair is straight and smooth. I know that it might be a different story if I had to spend 30 min or an hour styling it each time I washed it.
I am so envious, I am definitely a wash my hair everyday kind of girl, but unfortunately my hair isn't. It took an hour and 4 hairbrushes for the stylist to blow dry and straighten it yesterday at the salon! I don't have the time to do that everyday, so I usually skip a day or so before washing again. I do sleep with my hair down, and use jumbo hot rollers in it on day 2 for volume. I love Bastiste dry shampoo.

I was sleeping with my hair pulled back but after doing that for s few years it started breaking. Now I sleep with it loose. If I have to go somewhere I wash every day if I am staying home or just doing school drop off pick up I go every other day (usually pulled back day two).
