When it rains it pours (not actually rain related)

aka owning a house/being an adult stinks.

So in addition to our basement flooding due to something wrong with the boiler on Saturday morning, my mom fell down the stairs and broke both her arms Monday night and then last night our sump pump quit working mid-washer cycle - so more water in the basement, this time the laundry room. 

I know it will all work out but man, it is a lot to take in a short period of time.  The basement is dry-ish, mom is on the mend after surgery and the DH is tackling the sump pump tonight.  Which is good since we didn't do any laundry this past weekend and I have only 2 pairs of clean undies left.

No, she and my dad live 2 streets over.  She fell down her own steps in the dark.  She misjudged how far she had traveled across the living room and went down the stairs instead of down the hall like she thought she was doing.  

Oh Lord, if she had fallen down my steps and broken both arms?  Yeah, I don't think I would be able to go on.

Hopefully bad things happen in threes & you're done for awhile.

I'd recommend chocolate to assist with the stress level. However, eventually that leads to another expensive stressor when your clothes don't fit. (Please don't ask me how I know this!)

lilac05 I am hoping to burn off some of my stress (and chocolate that I ate today) by weeding the backyard and spreading 5 yards of mulch this weekend.
