I have a hard time believing it. I am pretty sure Tylenol is toxic enough that they would at least keep the child overnight and do bloodtests. But I am not a doctor.
When I was a kid, I ate nearly an entire bottle of children's tylenol. I remember that my mom called poison control & I had to drink a shit ton of milk. I don't think I went in to the hospital though. But that was in the 80s. I'm sure they'd do a little more now.
Was she really as casual about it as your post seems? That's really odd & makes me think it didn't really happen. Or she's a callous asshole.

She said the kid hid it in her pocket and was eating them in the car, so when she discovered what she was doing, she drove straight to the er. She said they told her that if she'd called poison control they would have told her not to come in....? She wasn't really casual about it, but she was super angry with her kid. This is the mom who's always rushing in at the last minute and has to shove her kid in the door and run, and she cries the whole class, she hates it. She kept saying over and over how pissed off she was at the kid for doing that and that she was severely punished.

Wow, that's awful. Poor kid.
Yeah, damn. Mom sounds like a nutter. And a liar to boot.
Unless it was a brand new bottle, how would she even know the exact number of pills? Not buying it. Poor kid. She should be punishing herself for allowing her child access to the Tylenol and not her daughter.

My friend asked this question, lol. The answer was convoluted. It's so ridiculous now that I type it out.
Um, yeah. So her kid manages to get the lid off...and the foil too? Newp.

TWINS!
When I was a kid, I ate an entire bottle of children's Tylenol - I totally Twy Sentwa'd that cap right off. I did get to have my stomach pumped and the doc told my mom I might die (wtf, doc??), but I was ok. However, this was in the 70s because I'm old, so maybe they were more cautious back then.

In my (our!) defense, the orange flavoring was soooooo goooooood. lol

I don't believe it. I mean an adult taking more than 8 a day, can have liver issues. So I very much doubt a kid can handle 26 with no medical intervention.
Ok so as far as I know, pumping the stomach isn't something that is actually done. So that part could absolutely be true. But to do nothing would definitely be far fetched. Let me ask my friend who is a pediatrician....
This is depressing. Poor kid being blamed for what was more than likely her mom's mistake.
And yeah, I have a hard time believing they'd be so dismissive of something like this. I recently gave L almost a double dose of Motrin (it was 5am is my only excuse) and poison control said it would have been more worrisome had it been Tylenol.
"Get a Tylenol level and see how bad the level is and check for the liver enzymes too with a cmp Then give N-acetyl cysteine A few doses and keep monitoring the level to make sure it's coming down"
So yeah, they'd definitely take blood for that amount of Tylenol.

I agree it sounds crazy. I had to call poison control two months ago because my 3 yr old drank what was left of the Motrin (it had a child proof cap and was on the counter because I was in the middle of giving my youngest a dose).
Anyway poison control said just to watch him. I knew exactly how much was there because I had just given a dose. They said he could have had the entire bottle and "been fine with no need for additional medical attention".
