At my work, our old HR director was notorious for testing people within weeks of the actual random test. Her theory was that people felt like they wouldn't get chosen again so soon and therefore do tons of drugs.

It probably is really random. At an old job we had one guy selected six times in four months.
I'd guess it's random every week, so you have the same odds each week of getting picked. (Right? It's been awhile since I mathed)
My dad used to get picked allllllll the time at work, sometimes multiple tests in a row. And it was ironic, bc some of the guys who came essentially straight from the bar (from the night before) never got picked. (Their test included alcohol.)
I think it depends on how the company chooses to "randomly" pick. Also, at this job the tests were required legally so I think there were certain rules that had to be followed.

My hr director basically admitted it wasn't random. Like she can randomly choose out of certain department. Some departments only have 2 people. Yeah. Pretty sure they just test whomever they want.

I know more about drug tests right now than I probably shpuld. Did you drink excessive amounts of water before your test this last time in prep for peeling in a cup. If the pee was too diluted then a retest may be needed.
