i lol @ tha argument that 'my toddler would ruin this' or whatever. i don't think that's an issue for everyone. it wasn't for me - i was able to keep all of my nice adult things nice when the kid was a baby/toddler. including white things. plus, this chick is home every day, all day, she has time to do laundry and keep the sticky fingers clean.
So much this. Some babies are okay with things like glass coffee tables, right @misoangry ?
I had a very formal nursery. I remember posting pics and people saying "she'll tear down those pictures when her diaper gets changed, all that light pink will stain, etc..." None of that happened.
i love parts of it, but overall, it's not my style (it's not most peoples' style, it's very OLD bittie). the curtains and wall paper are gorgeous. but the stuff all together is meh.
and i HATE a rug on a rug. it's the worst. people need to never do this.

This actually makes me feel much better about having kids. lol All I keep thinking is "What about my white dining room chairs?"
It is beautiful. But for some reason it makes me roll my eyes so hard.Â
She also said she likes to spend "quite time" in there with her daughter. HA. How does she make $900k a year doing this? I chose the wrong path in life.Â
I love these natural, authentic photos that show how she appreciates that "quite time" hanging out. I don't always wear a skirt with a train, but when I do, I make sure it matches my nursery curtains.Â

Agree.
It is not my style, but that room is beautiful!
I don't get all the hate.
And, while my home is not pristine at all, I can also attest to the fact that I don't have feces smeared anywhere.
What the fuck people - my children are not feral. LOL.
Kids make messes. My example of diaper cream was a bit extreme - my kids have never done that. My daughters room is beautiful as well. You know what ruins it being picture perfect? The dollhouse that she spends hours dragging out and playing with. And her stuffed animals lined up at the foot of the bed so she can sing "let it go" to them for the hundredth time. Rach Parcell's nursery just does not seem to be a room that will eventually translate into a place where a child can play and be... well, a child. No worries though, I am sure she will hire a decorator for the playroom.
Fucking ML man. Where our credit cards are always paid off, we all have #6's and our toddlers don't mess up their rooms.

I get it! I am laughing at the stack of books neatly piled on top of that chair. My 12 month old would be all over that.

No, no, no.
This is all fair.
But, if you knew your house was going to be photographed and published for public view, wouldn't you clean up?

Look. Stacks of books don't survive in my household either.
But I will stack them and snap a photo while they're intact for the sake of presentation. LOL.

I know you would!
Well yeah.
But that is not what I was responding to. I was responding to the comments that it is possible to have a pristine house while raising a toddler and if you have a toddler that makes a mess than you have a feral child!
