I made the mistake of scrolling to the comments which included: "The comment wasn't transphobic just as it wasn't transphobic when people refused to call Prince, Snoop Dogg and Puff Daddy by new names."
When you are 28 and the article about your stupid comment has to include "former Nickelodeon star," I think saying he had a career to ruin is pretty generous.
OMG, if you have a problem with it, why do you have to say something about it? How does this affect you (general you) in any way, shape, or form. You don't know this person personally so just keep your freaking mouth shut.

But if they don't run their mouths, how will the world know what good "Christians" they are? They're protecting and promoting the faith through hatred, judgement, and superiority, just like Jesus told them to do.

I got a little bit social-justice-warrior yesterday on Facebook and ended up asking why. Why? Why did you say that? Why does it offend you that a man now identifies and lives life as a woman? Why will you not call someone who identifies as a woman "she"?
No one could answer me. After I said to someone that she was choosing a path of ignorance and hate, she said, "You are blinded by truth."
What in the blue fuck?
I just don't understand why it matters. How does someone that you don't know choosing to live as a woman affect you even a little bit??

See, my FB's reaction to the Caitlyn Jenner news yesterday gave me immense hope. I had to log off FB for days after the Baltimore protests in order to have the will to wake up in the morning, but there wasn't a single negative comment from ANYBODY on Caitlyn Jenner.
Proof people don't understand, the comments "why is this fad news?" Seriously stated in various ways in response to news stories (I know, NEVER read those comments! I forget some times)
I highly doubt someone goes through hormone treatments, MAJOR surgeries and this type of attention/judgement to participate in a fad. Or for attention. I'm quite sure Caitlyn would have preferred none of the attention to have felt comfortable in her skin for the first 65 years of her life.

ha! i posted a FB status that's almost exactly this, word for word.
Serious question if you take a photo of a person who is standing in the vertex of two mirrors, as in one of the CJ photos from the VF shoot, why aren't don't we see the photographer in the photo?

I know you said "serious question", but...are you serious? It's Photoshop.
I'm pretty sure other people pulled off photos similar to this pre-photoshop. Its a kinda standard glamor photo pose, because it gives you both sides of the face. You've have to have some mad dark room skills to pull this off before computers.
I'm in a FB group with someone who posted on her personal FB the following: "Only going to say this one thing: Bruce Jenner had some deep seeded issues abd needs prayer. God does not make mistakes, the devil gets his claws in people and makes them believe something is wrong or that they weren't created the right gender. People need to stop blaming God and seek Him for answers and help." Spelling and atrocious grammar hers. Posts like these are why I unfriended her long ago.
As stated by pp, I do not understand why people care so much or are so affected by this that they are MORALLY OUTRAGED. I shouldn't be surprised by the vitriol, but it's so disappointing and exhausting.
Have yall seen theblaze article? Someone just posted it and I tried to read it but I had to stop when somehow Caitlyn and transgendered women were killing feminism.

When people say this, I always ask "What about cleft palates? Cardiac defects? Other congenital anomalies? If God doesn't make mistakes, shouldn't we refuse to perform surgery on these children?"
I unfriended someone over her agreeing with some Christian blogger about how God doesnt make mistakes and put female souls in male bodies. I should have known. She also argued that girls should have to wear tshirts over their swimsuits. Bye Felicia!
Some fuckface on FB said CJ should suffer cramps and periods and lactating and female hormones. When I pointed out that at 65, CJ was too old for those things, this guy said, "Well maybe give Bruce some menopause and chin hair." Wut? She just finished 50 years of chin hair you fucking idiot. And does he really think CJ hasn't suffered enough hormonal distress her/his whole life?
With the comment "Wow. What has society come to...." Didn't expect it from the person that posted it. Now I definitely see the person that posted it differently.

My half sister posted this, too : ( It was the only negative thing on my fb feed and as much as I want to say something, there's just absolutely no point. It's sad.
However, I was on the phone with my grandmother yesterday and brought it up and kind of held my breath because I didn't know what her reaction would be- she's 78 and pretty open minded, but this is all brand new, and she goes "Oh yeah, she looks gorgeous. Can you imagine waiting that long to feel normal? Those Kardashians are trash though- nothin but sex! Anyway, I got Ollie new pajamas..." Lol. Big sigh of relief.
I work with a super-conservative Christian woman who is my age (35). She's against gay marriage and doesn't really understand gay people as a whole. I expected something nasty to come out of her - but today, she surprised me. She told me, and I quote, "I'm sorry, but I think Caitlyn Jenner looks beautiful." Holy hell. I can't believe she said something positive about Caitlyn. I was expecting negativity.
