Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. We are finally finally finally home after more than two weeks in the hospital. Baby A had her surgery. She took a little while to wake up from anesthesia and her vitals were up and down but everything stabilized over the weekend and her doctors were comfortable with us taking her home. I'm excited but also nervous to be home. I read that "NICU moms" take a while to get over the fear and accept that their baby is going to be ok. I'm probably going to obsessively check her breathing and pulse for a while but I'm assuming lot of regular moms do that too?
Baby is a trooper. She is doing beautifully and is full of energy and sunshine. Maddie has been an absolute sweetheart. Waking my H whenever baby cries and then lying next to her bassinet protectively. She only licked the baby once!! Anyway. Baby A sends you all her love and thanks.
Dirty lurker chiming in to say she is precious. I am so glad she's home and hope you'll be able to relax a little in the weeks ahead. Maddie is adorable peering in on the baby.
