We are very near booking a 2 week trip to England for late October.
We only have a chicco cortino stroller right now. What stroller do you guys think would be good? A will be just about 1 year and we will wear him a bit, but also want a place for him to crash out. I would do a cheap umbrella, but I want something that will be easy to push as well and I feel like a lot of the cheaper umbrellas aren't good for that.
I would not take anything bulky. Get a sturdy umbrella stroller. In England, everything is small and all the stores, pubs etc. are teeny, tiny!
I'll go a step further and say get it once you get there if you don't already have one now. I'm guessing you won't want to wrangle an umbrella stroller through your departure airport with your luggage and all.
We took our City Mini GT and had no problems in rural England, London or Birmingham.
This is what I'm leaning towards. Happy to hear that you used it there easily. Would you bring it again?
We plan on bringing it on our next trip (Fall 2016)!
It folds in half very easily and fairly compactly (smaller than if an umbrella stroller was left open) so we would just put DS in a high chair at restaurants and have them put the stroller aside (everyone was very willing to do this). I really like that the sunshade is quite long and the seat fully reclines so we could do naps on the go.
We live in England and have a City Mini GT. We've taken it all over Europe and haven't had a problem. Nothing is flat and smooth in this country and I like that the CM GT has a little bit more substance - it handles cobblestones better than any umbrella stoller I've seen.
