"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
I did a double-take on FB today, thinking that two completely unrelated people in different states knew each other, but it turns out that my friend and I both know guys with the same (very common) first and last name.
The first time it happened when we moved back, I was ready to pack my bags & head out of town! I didn't like my circles mixing. Now, I've just accepted it & am starting to like it...sometimes.

Yup. My SIL is friends with the guy who introduced H and I. They are polar opposites and there is slight age difference. I asked her how they knew one another. He married her elmentry BFF.
People I went to HS with are friends with people I met years later at metal shows with H.
In a swap group I clicked on someone because her name sounded familiar. It said we had five mutual friends so I was assuming we went to the same college. Nope, the five people were all from different points of my life and wouldn't know each other. It was really weird.
Yes. I came across someone who was friends with my teenage cousin and my bff who is almost 60. Then 2 weeks later she showed up in a post by a friend from a completely other circle of my life. Weird. Weird. Weird.
Yes and it weird me out but I never want to comment bc I don't want people to think I am a stalker lol. I have a friend from college who has never lived in my home state with a mutual friend from my hs who has mostly lives here.
I have a couple of really randoms of high school people knowing college people, and I went to college nowhere near where I grew up.
But someone I know in Houston is good friends with the wife of someone I worked with in DC right out of college. Because they grew up in NM together. It was so odd to have her pop up in wedding pictures on my newsfeed.

Yes! A few months ago my cousin was in a picture with a good friend from college. I commented it was crazy to see them together and my friend from college never put two and two together that we had the same last name (nota common name).
Then I freaked out about the stories college friend could tell my cousin...
