Did pretty well this weekend!
1) Finish weeding and mulching. - I am halfway through our large flower bed and after that have 4 smaller area/beds left. - Finished the large bed and two of the smaller beds. Only two small areas left.
2) Plant garden. Done!
3) Start fundraising for the charity bike ride I am doing in July. Need to have $400 raised by end of the month. I sent one email to my mom. Lol.... Need to work on this one.
4) Finish one painting this month- Nothing yet
5)Pick out new floors for living room/ dining room - been hemming and hawing over this for months. - Nothing yet
6) Finish vacation photo book. - Worked on this a little. Not done but another couple hours and I will be done.
Exercise 5 days a week. Nothing big, but getting 10,000 steps a day is my plan. Four days of exercise. Not great, but more than usual. It has been pretty nice in the evenings so we have been taking walks as a family. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be 107 degrees today so I don't think we will be doing anything outside.
Control my spending on house projects and not spend more than my allocated budget. I have a serious problem with this. We spent $250 this weekend at Lowe's but it was for a fence project we have been planning for two years and a few repair items. DS2 broke our dining room chandelier last week and DH took it down to fix it. He offered to buy a new light if I wanted something different and I considered it for a moment. I decided that the light we have is fine, not what I would have picked, but it is fine and I don't need to spend the money on that right now. I also found a plan for some floating shelves that DH can build for our master bedroom for far less than buying a piece of furniture to fill a space in our master bedroom. This will cost money but it doesn't need to be done this second and it will save money in the long run.
I had to go back and c/p my goals. I am making some good progress.
1) Only eat out/get takeout on weekends. - we did well with this. Shared a plate of Chinese food Friday night, that was it. We also went out for a graduation dinner that night, but it was hosted by the graduate's parents so I don't count that.
2) Not spend any money on new house projects until we tackle the old ones. - so far, so good.
3) Sell some professional supplies to recoup some costs. - I will be working on this next week as school gets out the 17th.
4) Schedule a beach day with a friend who has been wanting to do so since last summer. / waiting to hear back from said friend.
5) Apply for 1 new job per week. - applied and interviewed for a job last week. I will find out by Wednesday.
6) Clean out the garage (again! thanks, packrat DH) - no progress yet
7) Clean out basement (another again! this man just throws things wherever!) no progress
8) Bring fruit for snack for all remaining work days. - did this all last week and again today.
9) When school ends, complete Barre DVD 2 days per week - will begin this 6/18
10) Order Checks. We have been using our old address checks for too long - not done yet
1) Stay on track with my studying. Surprisingly, I have! Yay!!
2) Drink at least 8 cups of water every day. I think I had one day last week where I only managed to have 6 cups of water, but otherwise I have done great!
I posted my goals today, but they were goals I'd written in my planner before the month started. Here is my progress so far:
1. Be credit card debt FREEEEE!! I paid off 50% of the remaining balance with my paycheck Friday. The other 50% will be paid off with H's check in 48 hours. Woo HOOOO!!! 2. Have a smooth transition back to work from maternity leave. I go back next Wednesday, but I've started a list for our daycare provider of J's likes/dislikes/routine (I don't want to sound crazy--I am very open to her finding her own version of what works, but thought some knowledge might help!) and I've come up with a basic cleaning/laundry routine to hopefully avoid wasting our weekends on chores. 3. Make progress on Operation Look at Least Slightly More Polished Than Usual (I have a keratin treatment scheduled for June 12th, I've bought a couple new dresses for work, and I need to make a makeup appointment!) My keratin treatment is Friday! I am both excited and worried that it won't do anything except make my hair flatter. 4. Sign DS and I up for a fun activity so I don't feel like I'm missing out by being a working mom. I just signed us up for baby swim classes on Monday nights! Our first one is next week. 5. Finish my pregnancy scrapbook. No progress--hopefully tomorrow. 6. Finish my closet reorganization. I am halfway through. I switched out half of the multi-colored plastic hangers for matching slim hangers to make more room, and I've tried to group things by sweaters, work tops, casual tops, dresses. Before, everything was just kind of thrown in haphazardly.
