KC, I'm tagging you because I know you're only a few hours NE of me - which hotels have you been to with indoor water parks that you liked? We're looking for something to do with DS in October for a long weekend....
Anyone else have recommendations on indoor water parks within hotels (preferably not Great Wolf)?
Why no great wolf? I ask because they're building one here and I'm just curious why you don't like it. I've never been to one (had never even heard of it until the bump)
A lot of nickel and diming, and it tends to be stupidly more expensive than many competitors I've seen. Also, my kid is only 3, so he can't do a lot of the stuff they have anyway. No sense paying for extra frills I can't/won't use.

We have one here it's our only option. We have been several times and the kids really like it. Like everything else it's as expensive as you make it. We are going again in August. I got a suite for $240 which is what we would pay for a normal hotel plus waterpark. Our is the most expensive yet you can still find some good deals at off peak times.

There's one around here and I've never been but the consensus in my mom's group is that it isn't cleaned very well. A few people said the rooms are grimy. I'm sure that varies by location.

Location definitely makes a difference. I've heard several people complain about the east coast (PA?) location. We went to the one in WI and had a great time. Very reasonable and a lot of stuff for kids to do.
Yeah, I'm talking about the PA one. I've heard it's kinda gross ( one mom even ended up with bedbugs from my Moms group).

And that is just the cost of the room? Or does it include admission to the water park?

Honestly GWL was the cheapest resort we stayed in within New England for indoor water parks. If you sign up for their email list you can get really cheap rates--we paid something like $170 on a Sunday night. I think coco key boston is better for adults/has a better hotel but I feel like GWL has the most for small kids.

Also sorry to try to sell GWL when you said you weren't interested but you can actually stay until close the day you check out. So really we got two full days plus a stay in hotel overnight for under $200 with taxes and fees. I think that's a steal.

Room and water park. It's the same as a hotel and going to a waterpark. Like I said for some reason ours is the most expensive of them all, but still not bad.
Every time GWL is on Groupon the location closest to us (poconos) is at least double the rest of them. DH hates water parks but I think we'll have to do it at some point. I think there is another one in the Poconos now and I know there are 1 or 2 at random hotels in Jersey. I will say, indoor pools/water parks gross me out for some reason - I think it's b/c they're just so warm & steamy.

I found the groupon rates to be way more than their website. Definitely get on their email list/check their site if you ever want to book down the road.

This is not the case with ours. The only way I can book is with a groupon. It saves me $100 at least each time.

I think it depends on room type. For suites it is cheaper than the website. For a standard room the best rates seem to be on their website.
