Always negotiate even at big box stores (ex: lowes).
Never pay a delivery fee.
Always Google coupons before purchasing online.
Ebates
Have you had sucess haggling at Lowes?
For big projects and/or purchases definitely.
DH negotiated $900 off our new hardwood floor installation recently. We've always gotten our delivery fees waived and last time we purchased appliances he got 10 or 15% off even without using their credit card or a coupon (we used the coupon so we got 20-25% off).
Also, if you go to the postal service and grab a new address/moving package there are 10% coupons off in there.
Most of the time, we order water when we go out to eat at chain-type restaurants. Soda is usually like $3.00 per person.
We buy a lot of things at Costco. It's not always the best deal, but it's usually pretty darn good, if you're paying attention. And, they pretty much guarantee everything.
I like to drink iced tea during the day - I buy it at McDonalds, instead of Starbucks, at 1/3 of the price.

Ditto the cheap housing! After selling our house and moving to a different state we decided to rent and chose a townhome that is less bedrooms than we'd ideally have and forego a yard to take care of because it was at least $500 month cheaper than other options and closer to my work. It's also $200/mo. cheaper than others in our complex because of outdated finishes. I made sure items that would cause a high electric bill were newer.

I do a lot of online window shopping and will leave things in my cart for a few days to wait for a coupon or deal on shipping. If it sells out it wasn't meant for me to buy. Before purchasing anything online, I google for coupon codes. Tonight I used the Price.line mystery tool to book a hotel and saved $70/night but my search parameters only pulled up one hotel so I was 99% sure I knew what it was and I was correct. I scan items in my cart to check for cartwheel at target. I keep a stock of protein bars in my desk drawer so I'm not as tempted to go buy lunch if I didn't bring it.
- If you have an Amex, check your account (and the Amex Offers twitter account) often for offers. I've saved a lot of money that way!
- If you can use credit cards for everything and pay them in full every month, make sure you have a great rewards program. I have a lot of credit cards, but I make out like a bandit. I've redeemed $3279 in credit card points/rewards so far this year, and we aren't halfway through. (And I'm not a points hoarder -- last year I redeemed $4500).
- If you travel a lot using your own credit cards, it may be worth looking into high annual fee credit cards like Citi Prestige and Amex Platinum. The annual fee may pay for itself several times over.

Agreed on CC rewards. Dh does not have a work cc and we have one card we use solely for work purchases that will be reimbursed. It helps us keep track of his expense report easily and boom...points.
Ibotta is my current obsession. I earned $21 back last month for doing my regular grocery shopping. Not huge but it's kind of fun too. I've been stacking Ibotta rebates with cartwheel at Target to save even more.
Here's my shameless plug for my referral link if anyone wants to check it out!
Thank you for posting this, I signed up using your referral link I already got $2.60 back, lol I also use SavingStar grocery coupons and print from coupon.com, and my grocery store digital coupons.

Yay! It isn't huge dollars, but I've gotten $36.35 back so far (including bonuses) in two months. But I'm a geek who thinks it is fun to stack coupons/rebates just for the sake of doing it. This weekend I got Tom's of Maine toothpaste for $1.03 after a coupon from the paper and $1 back on Ibotta. And it's all stuff I would have gotten anyway--soap, toothpaste, green peppers and milk!!! Fun fun!
