I'm not sure if I should be proud of this or embarrassed, but today at yoga my forehead actually touched my knee during one of the single leg seated forward bends. I cannot remember the last time that my forehead and knee actually touched with a straight leg. I'm historically the world's most inflexible person, so this is progress!

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow, like torrential rain. I have my long run tomorrow morning. I can't move it to Sunday for a variety of reasons. I looked at the route, and it's one of the evil routes I hate because it's so hilly. 16 miles and the second half is all hills. I'm also getting over a cold. Does some deity hate me?

Another pallet of rocks were delivered and they're sitting at the end of our driveway making it hard to get in and out. Sorry, I'm not sorry I can't help him move them, though.
On the plus side, the Koi pond is almost done and it does look nice. Then DH can move onto some other random pet project to keep himself busy, lol.
I have two weeks until vacation. It can't come soon enough.
I somehow weighed 10 lbs more after I came back from a week long trip to the US. I drank some cider there, but didn't eat or drink anything absurd other than that. I thought it would go away after I was back for a few days, but it hasn't completely. My pants are all uncomfortable. I'm sure I will be back to normal in a few weeks, but it is still annoying. I still maintain that it is pretty much impossible to gain an actual 10 lbs in 6 days, especially while running each day. WTF body?
DH and I signed up for a one-mile race on July 4th in his small hometown. I looked at last years results and its totally within reach for me to place in my age group (that's how small this race is, ha). I'm not sure how to approach a 1 mile race though other than "run as fast as you can" lol.
There is no other strategy. Balls to the wall until you puke or hit the finish line, whichever comes first. I hope you place!
Yes, this! I'd pace it slightly slower (only slightly) than 800 pace. Yes, it's twice as far, but you only have to do one set!

Wines Not Whines, I did see on the news this morning that the morning should be OK with only scattered showers and the bad rain isn't expected until later.
I am actually looking forward to a rainy day. Most of our weekends have been so busy with going to the pool and trying to do summer stuff. I have 14 on the schedule tomorrow, so I am excited about getting that done and having a day to relax, eat and drink.
Silly race recap (mrs.jacinthe) for the wipeout race last week. We had a lot of fun, moreso than we were expecting. It was very organized (volunteers/staff on each obstacle at every step - getting on, at the top, getting off/out) that kept things moving. They kept the waves, and the smaller starts within the waves reasonable, so no super long lines aside from one obstacle. The obstacles were a lot of fun (there was only 1 I didn't like). We were guessing it was not actually a 5K, probably somewhere more in the 2.5/2.75 mile range.
Overall, definitely fun. Probably not something I would do again because of the cost (and they tuck them in everywhere!), but glad to have run it with friends. We did do free packet pickup the day before and the lines were crazy day of; we also parked at a friend's place and walked to the venue which saved time/money on parking as well.

I'm pretty sure a group of summer camp kids thought I was crazy yesterday. I had an awesome run on Lake Michigan and went in afterwards for an "ice bath" on my legs. There were a bunch of kids running in and out to their ankles screaming that it was so cold while I was just standing there in waist deep water chilling and staring at the lake.
I'm swimming today with a friend! I'm so excited! She's picking me up and she's going to video me to document my progress! I'll let you guys know how it goes!
I made spreadsheet of all the races I'm interested in this year and next. Me and my running friends keep talking about races but we never know if another race we want to run conflicts with it. I decided to finally just lay it all out so we can start planning for real. DH saw me working on it and asked me what I was doing. WHen I told him he laughed at me. I am in accounting so I am on spreadsheets all day. It just makes sense to me.
Anyone done RnR Vegas?
I am so thankful it's Friday. I am tired. I went for a 1 mile run last night at around 8:15PM. I knew I couldn't go far since it was getting dark and I don't have any strobe lights or any nighttime gear that would make me visible. I went almost balls to the walls on it to make myself feel like I got a good, although super short, run in. I need to keep up my running since I've been slacking.
My arms already hate me after this morning's bootcamp class.
The rain needs to STAHP IT RIGHT NOW. We have an outdoor wedding to go to tonight (it's in a pavilion I think but still) and I actually get to go see my running group buddies since AJ will be at my parents overnight. But I'm not going if it's pouring! (not to running group at least, will still go to the wedding of course)

I'm so proud of myself, last night I ran/walked (mostly ran) a little over 3 miles on the treadmill! It's the furthest I've ever gone when running has been involved.
The vent though is I think it was a little too soon for so much. My calves were screaming at me last night (better today) and my hips are hurting today when I walk. I was doing C25K and got up to week 6 or 7 and then took a break a couple months ago. Started almost over from the beginning and got back up to week 3 or 4 and just went for it last night. I think I needed a little more patience with my self and now I'm a little concerned I've set myself back a bit since I need to recover. Years ago, hip pain was what made me stop running and I don't want to have that issue again!! I was fine a couple months ago, but my patience was more intact at that point.

Another not so H&F related random. One of my coworkers is complaining that she's been having stomach issues this week because she drank some of the "bad" bottled water.
First of all, why are here if you're having stomach issues?! Secondly, you drank Smartwater, which is not included in the recall. None of the bottled water included in the recall is even sold in Georgia.
I'm running way less lately, and my stomach is still a bottomless pit. Why ?? I finally ordered the stride short from Oiselle (on a good sale), and I think I love them. Now I need to run in them to see for sure.
I'm enjoying following the USA track & field championships coverage. I must be a dork but I think pro running is so interesting. Almost as good as pro baseball. runblondie26 -- I wish I could drop by with a skid loader and pallet fork to help you out! I definitely take unloading and moving pallets for granted.
I bought some Nano 4.0s for $45. Score for 40% off and buying from the juniors section at the outlet. They weren't as a good of a deal as I got my 2.0s for ($21) but I am happy with what I paid. I've been needing new CF shoes and have been biding my time for a decent sale.
Not H&F related but I am friends on FB with a few coworkers, not many. I received a request from one that I don't care for. She knows I'm friends with another CO on FB. I'm screwed.

Do you have your fb organized into lists? I have an list of close friends and family who get to see everything, a b list for peripheral friends, and a c list for Random acquaintances and students. My c list can see only the bare minimum, and it works nicely.

I don't. I know that I have some people as family and I noticed recently something about close friends but didn't pay attention to it. So I can do that?! That makes me feel so much better. I hate that social media has me all angsty!
