skwcm80 I'd say the end of June is a rough time to be racing throughout the majority of the United States.
I hope you're feeling after brunch.
Thanks! Brunch was awesome.
This race was bad because I went out waaay too fast, which sucked because we had decent weather ( low 60s, 60% humidity I think). Pacing and me do not get along.

Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I woke up at 6 this morning to get ready for my run, and as soon as I was dressed, I got a text from my friends that they were bailing on me because of the rain. I thought about doing the same and maybe hitting the TM, but at the last minute I decided to see if anyone else showed up. There were probably 40 people there! I ended up doing 15 miles, and had SO much fun. It was pouring and some of the streams were starting to flood, but we had a blast jumping in puddles. The temps were perfect.
Isn't it great when long runs in awful conditions are unexpectedly fun?
Now I'm snuggling on the couch with the cats, drinking a spiced chocolate porter!

I had my mile relay this morning with my running club and it was so much fun. I ran my mile in 7:04 and melmel48 and lori19 kicked ass with 10:00 and 8:18 miles!

Oh yes we did!!! Our team finished a "marathon" in 3:02:42!!

Ok, now you're just rubbing it in. I'd like to believe there's no getting away from the heat this time of year, no matter where you live.
For being a short race, the 5k takes a good deal of strategy. Good news is you can try again much sooner than a marathon
I planned to run this morning but I went to bed after midnight last night. I woke up at 5 and said heck no and fell back asleep. We woke up around 7:30 and I took DH to drop off his car to get fixed. I wasn't going to run because I had to get ready for a few parties this afternoon. That changed when I looked on Instagram and saw my friend's post about their runs. That run shamed me! I sucked it up and ran 5k. I am so glad I did. I know I would have thought about it all day if I hadn't.
