I had a good date on Saturday night, good food, amazing conversation, and even better sex. Hopefully we do it again soon. Last night I ended up going over to runners place. He doesn't want a relationship and is in no place to be dating with the intention of a relationship, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun.
That leads me into a little rant. Why do guys feel like they need to protect girls feelings? He asked me if I wanted to come over and I said sure. Then he calls me and is like, are you sure, maybe its a bad idea. I asked him why and he said he doesn't want to be "that guy" because he has barely talked to me in the last week and now wants me to come over. I told him that I am very clear on what he wants right now and I certainly don't want anything more either. That me coming over is mutually beneficial, it's not just for him. Why can guys be normal for wanting a casual hook up, but it seems unheard of for girls. Even if many girls cannot do that, I would like guys to understand that I am a grown ass woman who can make her own decisions and understand how those decisions will impact me. It is entirely possible that I can cuddle up and have sex with you and not get attached or want anything more than tha
Good morning ladies! Monday started off with me spilling half of my coffee on my leg on my drive to work. It's gotta get better from here! Lol. On the bright side, it's a short week!
TR I guess that makes sense. I have done nothing to indicate at all I would be clingy, so hopefully we can keep this arrangement and actions will speak louder than words.
mommadukes It definitely has it's ups and downs and isn't always this good, but I am enjoying it. Yay for him moving out!
So I had this asshole of a neighbor for years. He watered the side of my house for years and years. The wood rotted away and my insurance company said I had to replace it. Saturday my mom and I prepped. Sunday my mom, brother and I put some of the new boards up. Then Sunday afternoon my neighbor came over and helped us finish up by cutting some of the boards. OMG, you guys! I feel so lucky to have gotten this help. I was totally overwhelmed. I still have to paint but the bottom 2 feet of my house was completely rotted away and we got it fixed in two afternoons. It's far from perfect but SO much better.
Had an Awesome bday weekend. P spent so much time swimming he's exhausted this morning. I'm also getting used to my Fitbit. I think it under estimates calories burned though unless you're taking steps.
I went to the city on Saturday. I did a walking tour of Pilsen. Then went to the National Museum of Mexican Art (awesome!), and ate lunch.
Then I drove up to the north part of the city and went to my old local beach and walked around. Headed to my favorite restaurant for dinner too.
It was such a fun day. I went on my own. Navigated a new area that I hadn't been too. The first 10 minutes I was there I slipped on something outside and my feet came out from under me. So despite a skinned near and a rolled foot. I hobbled along for the day. Making the best out of a crappy accident. Haha
Sunday a friend came over with her baby and I made a pitcher of virgin Mojitos. We had a really nice time.
My half marathon training started today. Goal run is in mid-September. I ran 3 miles tonight with only 2 brief breaks (both less than a tenth of a mile). And fast too. Well, fast for me. We finished at 30:55. I thought I was going to die the last half mile. It was rough. I need to get out 3 more times this week. Yikes!!!

Ah, darn it. I have a half at the beginning of October and if you're starting your training now it means I need to start soon too.
I was leaving Target today, and a little boy was walking in with his parents. He was about six or so. He looks at me and says to his parents "there's a pretty girl right there"
I am finally feeling ok about my new job. I'm even liking it! New boss is great, people are generally nice, and the lady whose office is across the hall is giving me soothing mom-vibes. I've knocked some things off of my to-do list, and gotten good feedback, so I'm feeling less lost.
Thank god, because the first week was ROUGH. Last week got significantly better, and I am feeling good about things now.

But great start!!! That'd be fast for me too. :-)
I'm hoping I'll be able to train as much as I should. This year will be more difficult because DDs will be at my mom's one of my nights each week and I'll have to plan on going out there to see them and then running afterwards or vice versa. Last year, when DD2 wasn't in school yet, my mom stayed here on those nights so I didn't have the extra drive time. I think I'll be ok though.

I started training for my half marathon last Saturday too. We can all try to keep each other accountable. I did 3 miles also, but I was slow!
