I used to absolutely love the 4th of July. Now that I'm old it sort of sucks. 9timesoutof10 it also falls in Hs busy season so we can't really do anything too exciting.
So I suppose work in the morning. Then I want to take the kids to an old schoolhouse by our house and take some pics of them in some 4th of July outfits my mom brought over the weekend.
Grill some lunch for the farm. Take the kids to the pool after nap.
Fireworks at night.
I'm okay with the calm but I wish it worked to have friends over/something else going on. My sister said I could come camping with them but I was just there over the weekend and a 4 hour drive plus camping with kids makes me want to jump off a bridge.
My neighbors usually have a bonfire with everyone else who was stuck working that day too so we'll probably head over there. We didn't go last year because DS was so little and it was too late for the kids. I missed it.
We're going to the lake house. My cousins 30th is on Wednesday and her boyfriend is in a band so the band is also going to the lake and we're having a huge party on Saturday with the band playing and lots of playing around, roasting a pig, etc. should be a fun time!
We'll be on vacation in the OBX. Unfortunately the town parade is Friday, so we'll miss that (they don't do the parade on weekends b/c of rental turnover).
It's usually a low key day of beach/pool, cook out, watching the fireworks from the deck.
DH's family has a neighborhood block party and has been having it for 25+ years. When we got married, he insisted on his family for Christmas Eve and the fourth. It (was) that big of a deal.
Now that everyone from his generation has grown up, gotten married, had a bunch of kids, and moved away, it's not quite how it used to be. Still, it's fun and the hosting rotates around and his parents are hosting his year so we're heading up there. FIL is a former rec director and has all kind of games for the kids so they'll have a blast.
That being said, the area we moved to two years ago has a FABULOUS fourth and I hate that we miss it. Like, there's a parade right through our neighborhood and a huge fireworks display at the park two miles away. Plus it would be prime opportunity to get to know more neighbors. Maybe next year lol.
My family reunion is that day so that during the day and fireworks at night. We are going to my aunt's house the next day for a 4th of July barbecue. Should be fun.

Our culdesac always has a block party. We will go to the parade in my hometown in the morning and then play and clean up for when family comes over in the evening. We can see the fireworks from my street so everyone gathers here! 4th of July is my favorite holiday!
Apparently we were invited to a cookout by one of MH's friends. He doesn't know what time or if we need to bring anything. Thanks for the info H! We'll probably also go to our town's fireworks on the 3rd and the next town over's fireworks on the 4th.
I'm running a 10K in the morning which will probably leave me pretty pooped for the rest of the day. Maybe we'll try to do something low key outside with DD though if it's nice (park or zoo?). We can see three different city fireworks shows from our roof deck so I'm sure we'll sit out there after DD goes to bed and watch.
I love the 4th but we don't have anything planned so far. We used to have a big party at our house but for the last two years we've gone to a local park that has started having a nice festival on that day. We are trying to get FIL to take us out on his boat this year but we won't know until a day or two before if he will be able to.
I'm taking the kids to my parents house about 3 hours away as DH has to work most of the weekend. We'll take the kids to the pool/beach and bbq. I'll get to go see my BFF at some point and her new house. No fireworks though this year, the kids are too young.
I'm not sure yet. My aunt and uncle are having a party, which sounds like fun to me (they have a really nice set-up with a pool and pool house/party building), but it's about 3 hours away. H does not sound crazy about going.
However, I don't want to stay home and go back and forth about "What do you want to do?" and end up doing nothing. We'll see.

This is sort of why I'm glad H is busy. There is no discussion and while it sucks to not do something super fun and alone at least I do what I want..haha.
Otherwise we sit around and discuss and discuss and discuss some more. End up in a huge fight because neither of us can make up our mind. End up at the park and some kid friendly chain restaurant just like every other Saturday night...haha.
We always spend the weekend of the 4th at our cabin, with lots of activities: swimming, boating, great food, fireworks, bonfires, a boat parade around the lake on the afternoon of the 4th, trips to the DQ in town, etc. I am slightly bummed that I'll miss out on two of my favorite things this year (gin & tonics and waterskiing), but it should still be a great time.
No We had a casual invite (with no time given) from a neighbor we had over on Memorial Day but haven't heard anything since then. I'm kind of bummed because I love an excuse to host a party or go to the lake house but at this point it's too late to make those plans
Hopefully, coming from the hospital with three day old DD! We will have family here, but I don't imagine we'l be doing much cooking out. Probably takeout and trying to figure out our first night home with a new baby and toddler DS.

We are going to see fireworks that evening. If we go a little early we could probably watch Soundgarden and Smash Mouth play. After being gone for two and a half weeks my husband is getting home on the 3rd so we don't have much planned for the fourth, since he will probably be suffering from jet lag

There's a town carnival that we will probably go to. I really love 4th of July but, it's been hard having young kids + an H that's adverse to crowds and heat. This year It falls during Ramadan so, it won't be a huge deal.
Our town fireworks are the 3rd, and we are going to a neighbors to BBQ. DS's birthday is the 4th! My MIL is visiting, and we plan on a 5k in the morning followed by the pool in the afternoon. His party is the 5th.
Working at least half a day on both the 3rd and 4th. SIL is getting married on Friday evening at 6pm. Should be a nice fun dry wedding after working that day and having the baby that we be overtired and fussy :/ No booze and no dancing kind of event.
I'm running a 5K in the morning, then we're hoping to make it to our town's 4th of July bike parade. We'll have to decorate this week sometime. We'll be at the pool all afternoon, and then after grilling burgers/dogs we'll walk down to this area to watch fireworks. We'll drag the 3 1/2 year old along too! I'm sure it will be a shitshow, but I think she's old enough and DH can always carry her back home.
We go to DH's Aunt and Uncles lake cabin every year with about 20-30 of his extended family members. Since there are so many people, a lot of us just pitch tents and "camp" on the property. But we still have easy access to bathrooms and the kitchen. It's awesome.
There is a big parade in town that the kids love.
And there are going to be 6 kids, all boys, ages 8 and under - so that should be fun and crazy!
