Aw, I'm so sorry, tamb. I'm going to jump in and respond to your response to someone else and say you almost surely did not act too rashly. When she got sick a couple of years ago I'm sure you told yourself that it wasn't time yet and that you'd continue to take care of her until her quality of life was such that you couldnt/wouldnt let it go on. It sounds like she got to that point over the weekend, and you did the kindest, most humane, best thing for her. I recall when one of mine was getting towards the end, that random walking around meowing thing was disconcerting, but telling, too. Mine, and Emma, too, I'm sure, was just confused and didn't know what was up. Keep in mind that they call it "euthanasia" because it's a good death. She was pain free, she was not afraid, she was comfortable and she was with someone she loved. And she was ready. I'd like to think that's how I'll go, someday, too. That's a gift not every pet, or human, gets.
