What were you feeding your kids at this point? L is 7 months old, he can remain sitting when placed in a sitting position, but can't sit up on his own and doesn't crawl yet.
Assume that tougher items above are steamed and ground up, mashed, or pureed.
But, really, anything is fair game. If the baby couldn't handle it, she would just spit it out, so we just shoved whatever we could in her mouth and watched what would happen.

My kids had just started solids around 7 months and were mostly just BFing. Until around 12 months, solids are more for practice with textures and the physical movement of chewing and swallowing than for nutrition. We started with things like puffs and cheerios, fruits, steamed veggies, etc.
Dd2 is 7 months and we just started solids. So far, we've only done jarred baby food. She doesn't seem interested. I tried mum mums and she likes them, but I don't think its the taste that she likes, just the fact that I have given her something lightweight that she can chew on lol
Dd1 didn't really start eating solids consistently until 11ish months, so I'm still pretty clueless on what to give dd2.

we started just giving her soft stuff out of whatever we were eating around 7 mo, but it wasn't until this month (8mo) when she finally 'figured it out'. So now she eats a container of whatever puree we have on hand (like her sister did) and we give her some of whatever we're eating - sometimes it goes in and back out, other times she actually eats it. So far her favorites are veggie straws, broccoli, strawberries, peaches (no skin), green beans, pasta, bacon, chicken, yogurt, etc.
All purée foods at that point. She's just 10 months now and I'll give her bits of avocados, mashed potatoes, puffs, smashed black beans, crackers, etc. I also put watermelon and cantaloupe in one of those mesh things and she loves it.

A is almost 8 months. He's eating lots.
Tonight he had our dinner: chicken, sweet potatoes, carrots and bread. Ok, he licked the carrot, made a face and then went back to his bread. This greatly pleased my carrot hating husband. Now it's my mission to make them his favorite.
DS was just starting purees at 7 months, and it was hit or miss. He had no interest in anything but formula until then. I hadn't planned on waiting that long to introduce food but he was reminding me yet again that he was in charge of when we did things.
