msniq has hit some sort of breaking point with mom. The house is a hot mess because of the kitchen work. Stuff keeps coming into the house. The fridge is somehow overflowing even though we're not cooking anything. I totally get it.
Thankfully the cabinets are mostly in, and tomorrow the appliances will go back in. So we'll reclaim some space and be able to cook.
We are letting V pick strawberries in the backyard rather than start bedtime.
we went to two different pools today but I didn't swim either time. Baby pool this morning so she just played with her toys and I sat by the side. Tonight DH went with us so he got in the pool with her. There was a mini wave pool which was really cool and DD loved it.
starting to picture our family more and more as just a family of 3. It was really hard at the pool this morning to see so many moms with a preschooler and a little baby, or a toddler and pregnant. I wanted that to be us this summer.
Sorry friend
I used to sit in that wave pool for hours. I can never get the kids to go there anymore. Its part of my city pool membership so I want to utilize it.
DH agreed we will become expats if Ted Cruz becomes President but we can't agree on a new country. He wants Australia because he's lived there before but what kind of job could I even get? I need to resolve this before November.
DD is up because I don't feel like putting her to bed.
I'm just Catholic enough to get kicked off this board..haha. My FB is driving me insane. Dear fellow Catholics, you are members of one of the most popular churches in the world. You are in a country where you are free to practice and do as you please within your religion. Just because someone does something you deem immoral (read: gay marriage) does not mean you are automatically suffering prejudice. Last time I checked, you were free to get married to whomever you choose and carry out you marriage as you see fit. How two gay people who love each other and want to be married has a detrimental impact on your lifestyle is way the hell beyond me.
Thank you and good night.
I tried to rant to H about this and he was all, "I don't care. I have cows to milk." So you get it tonight MMM.
The liberal peace, love, freedom of choice social studies teacher in me and my religion do not always mix.
I think they do, though.
I find all of this "this isn't what our country was founded on!!! Christian ideals!!!!11!!" crap to be ridiculous. Actually, this IS what our country was founded on at it's core even if it wasn't executed perfectly, the freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness and not have your religion, which dictated the majority of the aspects of your life, dictated by your king. Even if one doesn't agree with gay marriage, it still makes sense to support it. By ensuring the rights and freedoms of others, we ensure those same rights and freedoms for ourselves. I really want to tell all these women I see on FB protesting against gay marriage and that this isn't what our country was founded on that they probably shouldn't vote, either, since they are women and all.
But I'm a-ok with gay marriage. You do you and all that
Let's be friends! The next idiot who posts something about Catholic Persecution is getting this rant. Word for Word. For the 5th millionth time someone making a choice different than you is neither prejudice or persecution.
niq, we're doing ok, but we did just get our exterior walls insulated (uh, apparently they previously were not; yay, old house!), and we do have a/c units in the bedrooms to make sleeping tolerable.
DH agreed we will become expats if Ted Cruz becomes President but we can't agree on a new country. He wants Australia because he's lived there before but what kind of job could I even get? I need to resolve this before November.
DH was all legit cliche saying we should move to Canada. I told him I have very serious connections.
Canada makes a lot more sense. As exciting as Australia would be, we'd never see our families or friends more than once a year, if that. Plus I live five hours from Canada now. I can probably work in a border town or something.
We went to Excalibur tonight and look at all the toys L won! Holy moly I hate stuffed animals haha. Tomorrow is my birthday so I bought myself a beautiful pandora necklace today. We've been going non stop but having a blast!
When you ask a friend if they have aloe and they immediately bring over Solarcaine cool aloe spray and Pizza Hut pizza + cinnamon sticks - AWESOME. I ate Raisin Bran again for dinner so this was a huge improvement. Also, I have horrific sunburn so I keep spraying myself with the spray and it's the best thing ever.
niq DS feels like he is running hot ALL the time. He woke up at 4 yesterday morning drenched in sweat, despite having A/C on in his room until about 10 or 11pm. He's not eating that much in this heat (which isn't anything all that new, but it's to even lower lows). We're heading out of town to the midwest this weekend and I'm looking forward to EIGHTY. Oh and an Air Conditioned hotel room. But am worried about my dog staying home (w/ dog sitter) :-(
This "oh you don't need A/c in the PNW" thing is BS!
I'm looking forward to the overnight lows tonight. Maybe the morning will give us a break from the heat!
Tacoma gal checking in, but I want to cut someone. This heat can go suck a bag of dicks. I expect this type of heat in Chicago, but I didn't sign up for this when I moved here! Plus the intensity of the sun is way more harsh here. We have no a/c and our apartment is like a sauna. I basically hate everything. I also have horrific sunburn, so that makes it all worse.
I came home and totally forgot the carpets were being cleaned today. You guys, they look AMAZING. You would have no clue that there is a pukey 18 month old who lives here! The only spot that doesn't look perfect is in my closet where I spilled red wine last winter and they apparently couldn't get that stain out. LOL. Best $140 my husband has spent. Finally!
Are you sure you have the right poster @this? Because another poster with the same first name as deej was liking some anti LGBT articles. It showed in my feed last night. Strange coincidence or maybe a mix up?.
also I have read some crazy ass articles that my brother has posted the last few days, I hope I didn't accidentally like any of them. He is coming to town so I've been familiarizing myself with what kind of stuff he might spew so I have good responses prepared.
This seems like a great time to share what happened yesterday. We were driving and the tablet wouldn't work for some reason. I didn't want DD to fall asleep yet so I gave her my phone uto watch a show. Somehow she got out of the show, opened Facebook and went to a message with a friend. She sent my friend 31 pictures and videos like this. THIRTY ONE!
