1. Go to Vedge (though you'll need a reservation) or HipCityVeg. Second any of the Tria's; I like the 12th and Spruce one best.
2. Constitution Center is great. Art Museum has an Impressionist exhibit right now. My fav place in the city is Sister Cities Park. The Spruce Harbor Park is nice too. I like the PHS Beer Garden at 15th and South.
I've sat at the bar at Vedge (and it's such a pretty bar), but it's not a very MM place!
I have no current recs, but I am just stopping in to say I did NOT peg you for a veggie. Wow!
Not vegetarian -- just don't eat mammals I do eat poultry and fish.
dude, that is veggie in my mind! i just never pictured a foodie like you as a pescatarian (or whatever the proper term is). especially with all the bacon love that's discussed (or used to be) on this board!
So I see that Pizzeria Vetri is right by the Barnes -- will there be very long waits at lunchtime? That might be a good pizzeria to try.
My father goes for lunch all the time. He is obsessed. Not sure about the weekend because he goes during the week but he has never told me that he waits and he is the kind of guy who waits for nothing.

We went to Pizzeria Vetri for lunch yesterday (excellent, and I don't take pizza lightly -- also, no wait!) and then got lazy about making dinner plans ahead of time so we went to Jones because it had a last-minute reservation and was not Italian (because of pizza earlier). Which broke my rule of not eating at places that existed when I lived in philly, but it was good and there's no NY location, so...
We also went to First Friday and I found these at a store
And we went to Capogiro for dessert. Fitbit says I took over 25,000 steps in my gizehs and my feet have lived to tell the tale! (Fitbit also says this was over 10 miles -- I am skeptical).
Today will be Federal Donuts (20 feet from hotel, so...), mint tour, terminal market for lunch, quick stop at Philly soft pretzel factory to buy an embarrassing number of pretzels, and then home.
