Any issues or vents? Vents: The days are already getting shorter. My legs are already tired and I'm at the very beginning of marathon training. A lot of people in my running group are running early season marathons, so we've already ramped up mileage quite a bit. Mine aren't until late in the season. It's going to be a long training cycle for me.
Highlights or AW's to share? 4 more days until vacation!!!!!!

Any issues or vents?Just the runger that comes with early morning workouts. I tried a protein shake this morning and I think it helped. My menu choices are becoming stale.
Highlights or AW's to share? I've had a few nice sub-9 runs lately. I've been feeling stuck in the 9-930 range for some reason and running with some of my MRTT people has helped me pick up the pace a little.
What are you training for? Date? NOTHING, and that's wonderful! Cyclocross doesn't start til late Sept, and I won't start official training until mid-August.

Any issues or vents?
Just that this month is going to be so damn busy- work is crazy and we're scheduled every weekend. It's all good stuff, but I am easily overwhelmed if I don't get some down time.
Highlights or AW's to share?
I survived 4 days with family and celebrations and didn't completely sabotage my h&f efforts

Any issues or vents? I am having issues getting a training schedule together with all the random events on the horizon. I need to sit down and review but I've been putting it off and off. I am still in resistance mode for a schedule since running my marathon. I'm 12 weeks out from my A- race (the half) so it need to happen soon!
Highlights or AW's to share? This was two weeks ago but since I'm still living off the excitement I will share. I ran a local 5k and PR'd (22:45) I took first in my age group 30-39 and got a medal! My first ever!

Any issues or vents? Just scheduling. It's making me crazy. I guess I need to just adjust to the fact that scheduling different types of workouts is going to involve crazy logistics. I hate having a plan and then just shuffling everything every week trying to squeeze stuff in
Highlights or AW's to share? Went up to Donner to practice on the actual course and was fully prepared to curse myself for signing up for this race at high altitude that involves swimming across a lake, climbing a mountain on a bike and then a run in the summer heat. Instead I was reminded of why I signed up - why I think it's important to push the comfort zone out and reach beyond what we tell ourselves is our limit. The endorphins and the thrill of surprising yourself with how strong you can be is just intoxicating. I felt that exhilaration this weekend when I summited that beautiful mountain pass.
On my way home I just had to accept that I only want to race in stunning landscapes. I'm taking the Oakland Tri off my schedule because although I heart Oakland always and forever, I think I need more inspiration. I'm reallocating that entry fee to an Alcatraz-SF swim crossing!!!

Highlights or AW's to share? DD2 said she will run the 5k this weekend! Even when I said it was 3.1 miles and there was to be no whining. I told her we could do 3-4 minutes of easy running and 1 minute of walking and she seemed ok with that. This will also keep me from being stupid and actually racing it. Yay!
