I have been attacked by grackles 5 times this summer. Apparently they get very protective of their babies. They just fly into the back of my head and flap/claw around.
But it's SCARY. And now all birds make me flinch. I think they can smell my fear.
It's noon and I still haven't gotten dinner in the crock pot yet. Whoops! I also need to take our sleeping bags outside and air them out for our upcoming camping trip.

I'm about to drive to RI for a proper damn gel manicure like kevin arnold
I got my nails done last WEDS EVENING and I just had a huge chip come off of my thumb. The rest are starting to chip off at the top, too. I am better off setting $40 on fire.
I discovered a really good combo for my water. Lime, mint, and basil. It's definitely my favorite right now. I bet vodka would be good in there... lol.
Fuck, fuck, FUCK. The insurance adjustor just confirmed that our roof needs to be totally replaced due to damage from a punkass tiny hailstorm we had back in 2014. The one we didn't realize had caused any damage because we had no issues with leaking and whatnot, so we were totally blindsided when we saw it on the inspection report.
Our fucking deductible is $2400, so in addition to now worrying that we're going to lose our buyers because this could delay closing (and they are really uptight about the closing date), we're going to be out over $3000 total for all of these inspection-related repairs. Oh, and we have to hit the road to move from Texas to Maryland in a little over two weeks, which will almost certainly mean that we can't oversee any of the work ourselves.
One thirty is too early to start drinking, right? Like, totally too early.

Filed under WBC: my cousin, Natalie, is getting married in the fall. A few months ago, my mom got a save-the-date in the mail and texted it to me, to which I said, "Uh...I haven't received a save-the-date." Actually, NO ONE in my family has, aside from my mom. Natalie lives in California, although we're acquaintances more than anything, and my mom tries to have lunch with her when she's out. Natalie had told my mom they were going to have a very small wedding, which made sense because Natalie's mom is the one who changed my grandma's will before she died, creating a family shit-storm, so that would seem to be a good way to avoid family drama. Anyway, my mom has been freaking out about this ever since.
Meanwhile, my other cousin Ashley is getting married, and because Natalie shared her date with no one (and presumably we are not invited?) she booked her wedding date the weekend after Natalie's wedding. H and I have already made arrangements to attend her wedding, and I'm also flying in next month for her shower.
This weekend my mom texts me that Natalie wants my address to invite me to her shower. WTF? Now I'm truly confused. Either she doesn't give a flying fuck about wedding faux pas, and I'm just invited to her shower, or maybe we are actually invited to her wedding. Who knows, maybe the whole family is invited to her wedding! I told my mom if I were in her shoes I'd invite everyone anyway, because not very many people can make an OOT wedding, but most people will send a gift, particularly family. Ha ha. Well, maybe family's just invited to the shower! Who the fuck knows at this point.
I am so sick of the time and attendance system we implemented last year. The entitlements for union workers and pretty much most of Canada don't work, and I'm so tired of getting the calls. They (the support people/developers) don't know why certain policies and pieces don't work. It's making me nuts, and our managers/employees affected are annoyed. I wish we'd never done this stupid project. It's caused nothing but grief and headaches for me, since I'm the "expert" (hahahahahahahahahahaha)
I hit 100 miles of running, walking, and biking this month. My goal was 60, I'm pretty happy finishing at 100!
