As mentioned in an earlier post, someone mentioned that Canada has all dressed chips. Made me curious what are some other things that we have up here and vise versa. One thing that I have never heard of until DWP was pirate booty.
Well h's best man is from Australia and when he visits, he always brings me a bag of chicken chips! Love! They are potato chips with a dusting of what tastes like chicken bullion or chicken seasoning mmmm.

Can't think of anything unique to SoCal...
In n Out burger used to be unique to SoCal. Depending on where you are in SoCal, we have an American/Mexican fast food chain called Baker's that is only in the Inland Empire. I can't think of anything other than that...

Oh yes in n out. And that reminds me we have crush cakes here. They were on cupcake wars. There's one in Santa Barbara and one in carpinteria. Amazing food made with fresh and local ingredients and the cupcakes are fantastic. Love it!
Wisconsin/upper midwest: The Friday Fish Fry tradition--lots of places offer a Friday fish fry menu with fried fish (or baked), fries or potato pancakes, sometimes rye bread Door County, WI does a big fish boil traditional meal Popular to drink Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet cocktails (often with your fish fry) Tons of beer, cheese, sausage (the stereotypes are true) Fresh cheese curds (squeaky to eat) AND fried cheese curds (heart attack material) Lots of grilling bratwurst in the summer. Supper Clubs--an old fashioned style restaurant where meals start with a little tray of appetizer-y things and have a traditional menu of steaks, ribs, chicken, fish. You'd almost always get cocktails, too. There's probably some taxidermy on the wall somewhere.

Lots of craft breweries. Heddy Topper is probably the best known beer. Maple deliciousness. The world's best ice cream is from here. Yummy cheese. Lake Champlain chocolates.
Ca had tons of taco trucks. Not sure if those are as abundant elsewhere. Certainly aren't here. (sad times)
I miss Ivars Clam Chowder from WA.
Ivar's was soooooo good. However, my college roommate set me up with a guy who first borrowed $20 from her for the date, and then took me to Ivar's inside the Northgate mall for dinner. That was the date. The mall food court. There was an actual Ivar's restaurant like 20 minutes away, but he took me to the food court. And then talked about his eyebrows for an hour. The clam chowder was amazeballs, though.

Bakers Caribbean chicken sandwich is a whole mouthful of yum.
