Spotting, lower sex drive, cramps all mentioned in that thread
ETA: Sorry - I didn't mean to add a smiley about the things you are trying to avoid. I think it's going to be hard to find something that can promise no effect on sex drive / weight. A lot of ladies in that thread also love their Mirenas.
My sex drive was maybe a teeny bit lower, but it was also inserted fairly early PP and I was Bfing the whole time I had it, so it's hard to tell how much the Mirena contributed.
I've had zero side effects, if that makes you feel better. I also switched from Paragard to Mirena, and for me the MIrena is so much better. Also, my doc said that the Mirena is such a low dose of hormone (and localized in the uterus) that most people typically don't have the same side effects as bcp, like weight gain, etc.
Lower sex drive is the only one, and like I mentioned in the other thread I think that can be chalked up to breastfeeding and first year sleep deprivation and stress too. I had a Mirena before DD and I don't think the lower sex drive was as much of an issue if I remember correctly. I've never had weight gain issues with it, or moodiness or mood swings. I do have more intense period like cramps each month, but I've never had a period which is great.

Ditto this. It's maybe a bit lower but it's still not bad by any means. My side effects have been almost nonexistent, but I did have some intermittent (maybe once every few weeks) cramping and extremely light spotting when I wiped for the first year or so.

I still get spotting around 2 weeks after my (down to) 2 day period, which sucks. But it happens like twice when I'm wiping and otherwise I don't notice it. My sex drive is already sucky and I have no idea if I gained weight since I was still holding onto pregnancy weight when I got it (I have lost 5 lbs since then).
I've only had it for one day, but if you have time to think about it, feel free to tag me in a month or two to ask what I think. I had it inserted nearly 11 months pp, so I think I will be able to tell if any changes in sex drive, weight, general mood, etc. will be due specifically to the Mirena.
I had it for a year and a half. My period never went away, I had horrible awful acne (bcps had been helping my skin more than I realized), and cramping the entire day after sex. I also had recurring yeast infections, but I'm not 100% sure those were related to the mirena or the spironolactone I had to take to control the acne.
It made my depression worse, so if you have anxiety and depression issues I wpouldnt take it. My OB screens for depression before giving it for that reason.

I think it did lowered my drive a little but. I it the worst for me was I still got my period plus pretty constant, but varying discharge.
TMI: Like some days I was sure I had just peed my pants, other days it was thick and smelled gross. I was awful. I had it for almost a year when I couldn't stand it and got it out.
