That sounds awesome. One of my favorite childhood memories is when my dad let us have ketchup sandwiches for dinner one night. I think it was also a summer night, come to think of it. We still talk about it to this day. You created a lifelong memory!

Sometimes there's nothing more you can do than just let them eat what they'll eat. After 1,000,000 tantrums to have his sister's teething biscuits as a snack, sometimes Connor gets them. Oops!
Yeah, you got your kid to eat something, I call that a win! It's been a long day and DH is on tonight so DS and I are sharing cheese cubes, raspberries, and some cucumber feta dip - he has milk, I have wine.
Plain noodles and peas for my kid because that's his favorite. We wanted greek takeout and it's a toss up on whether he will eat it so we didn't want to waste the money getting him a kids meal.
One of mine is eating a corndog and the other is having microwave mac and cheese. Also bananas, because why not. Sometimes you do what you have to in order to survive the evening.

My son beggedandbeggedandbeggedandbegged for Crisco once. After a thousand no's, I finally said okay, but you have to eat every bit that you take. Cured.
Hell, I *think* M had a donut for dinner with my mom and then strawberries at home because dinner was "too spicy".
As long as she has something in her belly I'm cool.
And there was also that time at 18 months I'd had enough and gave her the whole box of goldfish...she immediately poured them all out and made a rectangle before she would eat. ..stinker.

Normally I wouldn't care at all about the freaking teething biscuit, but they come in a box of 10 or something, Cam loves them, and I'm not just throwing goldfish at her like I am Connor! Lol, eat your goldfish kid and leave the organic biscuits to your sister!
Yes. She dips EVERYTHING in ketchup. It's disgusting.
lol this is worse than my little sister dipping her salmon in ketchup when we were kids. Please note, I am in no way judging what she ate, just how she ate it.

We didn't even bother giving our 4 yr old dinner bc she just complains the whole time and it is annoying as hell. The rest of us ate and she watched Sid the Science Kid. It was great honestly.

My mom used to let me eat little slices of shortening. I loved it. Lol. My ds1 loves little pieces of butter.
You're not alone. I served DS baked beans and plain rice for dinner and he was like wtffff. Whatever, I tried to give him the good stuff we were eating, but he wanted no part of that either.
Now his tummy is so, so hungry! So I caved and he's eating a pb&j in bed.

Last night, DD ate two Kraft singles and half a dozen sweet pickle slices for dinner. I will also dump ketchup or salsa over anything she wants if it gets her to eat. My MIL brought over roast beef one night and I apologized for giving it the ketchup treatment. She was like, whatever works dude, lol.
