To be honest, I'm not sure I'd go for just a week. If he could add a week to the travels, so you had ten days, maybe. The jet lag from that trip is killer. It takes days to back bounce back from it, and if you're only there a week, by the time you feel human again it's time to leave.
Guam, though. Itd be hard to say no to a free hotel room in Guam.
We went when I was 12 weeks pregnant, and it was one of the most amazing trips. We were on Guam for 5-6 days, and flew up to Saipan for 2.
Next time we will want to break it up and do 3-4 das on Guam, 2-3 days on Saipan, and 1-2 days on Tinian.
Honestly, a week on Guam is a LOT. It's a small island with one true strip of restaurants / shopping, and the resorts don't offer as much as something comparable in Hawaii.
GO TO GUAM. We will go back when DS is old enough to manage such a long flight. We went from NYC to Tokyo to Guam on our way there, and Guam to Honolulu to NYC on the flight back. We had beds there, and regular 1st class seats on the return flight. Man that return flight was rough. (I won 2 round trip first class tickets to anywhere in the world - so we chose Guam as it was more expensive than flights to Australia.)
What's wrong with a week? That's plenty. If I thought like this, I'd never go anywhere!
Honestly! DH was short on PTO one year and had to be back in the office to finish out a week with Thursday / Friday. We still flew out on Saturday for Japan and returned Wednesday night. I mean, we got to hike on Mount Fuji. How could that NOT have been worth it? I wouldn't give that experience up for anything.
I was just coming in to say make sure to go to Saipan as well when you're there.
Awesome and high five!
Also, CloudBee, when I went to Thailand, I flew back through Tokyo. DH flew out before, and we flew together from Narita to Seattle. Because I had been flying first class (work) I decided to swap with him the last leg, so he could fly 11 hours in first. I took his coach seat. (Kill me).
When he arrived, he actually dared to tell me "meh, it wasn't all that great". HE HAD A FUCKING BED. I had a little non existing cubbie with a guy that kept eating random stinky things.
Yeah, there is zero chance that DH would leave for a trip like that, without me in tow. I'm pretty sure he knows better than to suggest it (same if it was the other way around), but if not, my reaction would be the same as yours.
Seriously, if you have the opportunity to go anywhere internationally, take it!
Naysayers will be all like, "You're not experiencing it sufficiently yadda yadda yadda."
But you know what? More often than not, those naysayers HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN, not to mention you actually end up going to FAR MORE PLACES THAN THOSE NAYSAYERS DO.

I disagree.
I've never been to Guam, but I've never once regretted going on a short trip even if I'm a little tired.
If I could only travel for a week at a time, I'd never go anywhere!

yeah, you speak the truth. I hate jetlag, but probably not enough to not go. I rescind my previous comment.
