Okay, I know someone recommended Dr. Bedgood last week for a sports medicine doc, but she's out right now and I can't wait to see her. SO, anyone have a recommendation for a great sports med doctor? My requirements are they know what they're talking about, it'd be great if they're a runner or athletic, and they're not going to tell me to run through the pain. I'm in the Katy area and work in the Westchase area, so somewhere close-ish to there would be fantastic.
I have been seeing a sports med orthopedists at Memorial Hermann Memorial City (in the Ironman Sports Medicine center). Dr. Simonich is treating me for my broken foot currently. I've only seen him a few times, for this injury, but I like him. I saw his associate Dr. Schroeder in January for a knee issue (which was almost resolved by that time and didn't need any treatment, though he recommended some PT if I wanted to do that), he also seemed nice, that was the only time I saw him though.

I'm sorry, I was the one that recommended dr bedgood. The other podiatrist I saw was in friendswood, which is too far for you. Maybe another dr at the ironman sports institute?
I go to Dr. Provenzano off of 10. He's a runner. He fixed my plantar fasciitis when no one could. I think he's a bit liberal with the steroids. But it finally fixed it after a year of several other doctors

I saw a guy at Methodist Sports Med in the med center. He came highly recommended but doesn't appear to be there anymore. He put me in a cast immediately and pretty much told me I'd never run again.
I wasn't happy with that diagnosis (DUH) so I went and saw Dr Beaver at Ironman
Dr Beaver couldn't believe I was coming to see him after seeing my previous doc (I guess the first guy is some big shot) but Dr Beaver was great and patient and most importantly listened to me. Even though I don't run as much as I did then, he gave me the confidence that I could run for the rest of my life, unlike the first guy.

Oh! I saw him when I was in high school, for a couple different soccer injuries, including an avulsion fracture of my pelvic bone and a bad case of bursitis on my knee cap. He was great, the only reason I didn't see him recently was because I couldn't remember his name and was trying to get immediate appointments.
