Just trying to be somewhat productive today.
I'm having lunch with my sister and then dinner with some coworkers before we go to a play that another coworker is in. I have eaten out entire too much this week, but I've worked out every day, so I don't feel as bad.
Annoyance: my student worker has made it a habit to skip work in the mornings. She lets me know like an hour or two before, but still. She does come in for the afternoon though. I've tried reminding her that it's her loss (lack of pay) and I've tried the guilt trip of "you're making me look bad" (she looks up to me, so I thought that might work), but it's always something. I guess I need to sit her down and have a responsibility and accountability talk with her.

I am working until 3, but we have pizza at noon and the marketing/PD dept brought in beer for a little marketing/pd "meeting." There is also someone's crotch-fruit here. He came up to me and asked if I had any projects he could do for me. Um, yeah. So I have him organizing my shelf of samples so I don't have to do it later!
Tonight I have a facial, then I'll come home and pack for NH. We will leave early tomorrow AM.
I'm working until 3 today. I could leave earlier, but I'm meeting a friend for a couple drinks before I head to the train. My aunt will pick me up from there and I'll drive up to my parents' house tonight. Need to hit the grocery store, put beers on ice, and take a bunch of junk out of my car too.
We'll be eaving as early as possible tomorrow for DMB, depending on when my brother is ready. So excited!
Some guy handed me an olive garden breadstick and I drooled while eating it. I missed bread for a whole month.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to murder MH.
How did your diet go? Good results?
Do you want to get away with murdering your husband or are you okay with the repercussions? If you want to get away with it...I think you've already jeopardized that. Haha
Just trying to get through the workday and start the weekend or are you already off today? I taught a HUGE class this morning, then rushed home to bring Sansa cat to the vet. She needed her shots and I got her a lion cut. She was such an angel and appears to be quite happy with it. She was getting matted due to rolling around on our back porch. I am now at the office until about 4:30. Boo.
Any random annoyances or good surprises to share? This f@cking guy at the vet put his super loud and annoying cat next to Sansa who was sleeping in her carrier. It woke Sansa up and then she started meowing. Everyone in the room was all flustered after that. F@cknut. Side note - his cat was just there for a checkup. I would have been more compassionate if the kitty was sick.
Have any recent purchases you are loving lately? Hmm...we just launched an apparel line at the studio that is working out nicely.

Yay for all of you getting out early! I don't think I am, but maybe they will surprise us. They did let us wear jeans today, so that's good.
I just had my first ever lobster roll and it was delicious. The owner of the restaurant is from Maine, so I will consider it authentic. Mmmmm, I think the bread was just as good as the lobster!

Just trying to get through the workday and start the weekend or are you already off today? As soon as I get an email saying that an invoice looks good, I am out!!
Any random annoyances or good surprises to share? Random annoyance - our dishwasher doesn't work. It worked at the home inspection, and we didn't think to check it at the walk thru, but it definitely doesn't work now. Thankfully, the technician can come out tomorrow between 8 and 5. (We're both off, so the HUGE time span isn't an issue, thankfully!)
Have any recent purchases you are loving lately? Does this count?
theatre4life congrats on the house! Have you moved in already?
I worked Monday and Tuesday and am off the rest of the week. I am hanging out at home, cleaning and organizing. Our backyard is finally finished! So my recent purchases have all been for that! I stained the deck and my mom recovered my patio furniture, and I bought a deck box to finish it off! Oh! And I also got a misting sprinkler to cool is off when we are outside.
My annoyance is we found out Tuesday that they hired 5 new people to add to the 5 they already have for my job, in India. That doesn't look good for the rest of us, and since we are buying a new house, it has put a kink in my budget. It wouldn't be for at least another year and a half or so, and we are still getting a new house, but it will not be the one I had my heart set on.
We are also going to Europe in October! Unfortunately it's with MH's whole family but it should be ok since we won't be together all the time. And we were invited to a wedding in Ireland a year from today so we can start saving for that.

Is it possibly that the dishwasher is connected to a power switch in the kitchen?
When we moved in, I couldn't figure out how to turn our dishwasher on and thought it was broken. I called my mom (who was our realtor) and she said it's really common with a lot of homes here and new owners don't get told that you have to switch it on by the light switch. Ours is in a line of 3 switches with the disposal and the overhead sink light. Found the right switch and we just leave it on all the time, but I was so glad it was something simple like a newbie-mistake rather than having to replace the whole appliance or pay to fix it! I hope it's just something like that for you, and not any real issues.
DH is off today. We took Rox on a hike at a state park nearby. Now we are doing some yard work and soon, DH is going to get fitted for a tux for a wedding he's in.
No recent purchases as we are on kind of a spending freeze for the summer Too many emergency house and car repairs in the past several months, plus vacation and weddings, so no fun splurges anytime soon.

OrangePixyStix - This would be a good thought, by it lights up, so it's getting power, just not doing anything beyond lighting up. I honestly never would have thought about it being on a light switch, lol. :-)

I'm back from vacation, but there's still a 3-day weekend ahead of me (*pats self on back for good planning*). It's Ian's b-day today, and we're going to a Cubs game.
New purchases--we brought back a lot of wine (probably about a case all told) from the Finger Lakes.
