I will just add that the Americans with the most power (i.e. those with the highest incomes) are feeling the pinch the least, which doesn't help. IME my friends in higher paying vocations also have employers cover the largest part of their share and have the best coverage while those in lower paying jobs also have employers that either can't or won't pay for good plans if they offer them at all. My one friend is an engineer making a nice income and pays nothing towards his healthcare at all, even for his family of four. $5 doctors copays, no deductible, 100% coverage at everything. My sister supports her family on less than $50K a year and pays $1K a month with a $10K deductible and because it's the family plan that tips it that high, not the individual plan, she can't get relief. It's all sorts of broken.
Even if a millionaire is paying $1K a month and has a $12K OOP max it's not life ending, so it can be hard to get those in charge to understand that Americans are literally going bankrupt for medical care.

It's just DH & I on the plan, we pay ~$450/mo and each have a $500 deductible and $2500 OOP max. We had the choice of 3 plans, this one is the best/most expensive. It's also the only one with IF coverage. We feel fortunate to have this available to us
