We booked this thanks to suggestions here! We're going two weeks from today. For those who have used him in the past (or done similar wine tours), I assume we should tip him at the end of the tour? How much? For reference, we're doing a group tour (so far 2 other people are on it with us), and we paid $350 plus we'll pay for our tasting fees.
We did tip. This was three years ago, so I can't remember exactly, but I want to say we tipped him 15% of what the tour cost us? That kind of rings a bell. That is probably what I would do today if we were to go. 15-20%
Have fun! Like I said, it was an awesome tour.
FWIW, I would tip him more than I would a "tour guide" of one of the big tours that essentially just drives the van around and what not. He was literally sitting at each winery while we tasted changing up and adding to our itinerary as we went, getting us into small/private wineries for tasting, was so knowledgeable, etc.

Thanks! I'm excited too! I was so glad for the rec from previous threads here because it was overwhelming to think of picking wineries as a first timer. I can't wait!
