I like my work schedule now. I work nights, on call responsible for reports between 5pm and 8am. They consider my hours 80/week so I work six days and am off 6.
My perfect schedule for my current position would be 12's on Mon/Tues and 8's on Weds/Fri. Mondays and Tuesdays are my busiest days. Thursdays are my slowest.

3 twelve hour shifts and a half day. My job tends to be 75 to 90% on my feet, and the rest is paperwork. It would be nice to designate a half day only to sitting at my desk and doing paperwork.
I like things neat little boxes. It's easier for me to focus single day on paperwork meant to jump from on my feet to at my desk.
Also, all of my shifts would start at 7 AM or earlier.
My current schedule is really flexible. I usually start about 10 or 11 am. And work until I complete the tasks for the day.... Anywhere from 4-8 hours.
I'll also work a few hours Saturday / Sunday if I need it.
I generally do 30-50 hr weeks depending on projects.
My 10+ year career has been 9 hrs M-R with every other Friday off. CFBC here and I love it. There is enough time in the evening to eat dinner, watch a couple shows, and go out for a 45 minute walk. Every other Friday off makes half the year a potential vacation weekend. I work through lunch and have a short commute which is vital to avoid losing the whole day to transportation.
DH jokes that his ideal schedule would be 10-4, so he could run in the morning and then have more evening time to cook a nice dinner.
I have it right now. Other than off-site meetings (usually two a week max), I work from home M-Th 9AM - 3PM. Most days, I am still working at 4PM, but that's largely thanks to GBCN and long lunches with DH, who also wfh.
As few hours as possible, but if it has to be 40 hours, I would want 5 8 hour days. My answer would change if we were talking about more or fewer hours.
I work a flexible schedule from home and it is pretty ideal. I usually work in 2-3 hour chunks throughout the day with breaks for working out, showering, occasional errand. It's pretty awesome.
In an ideal world, I would love to do 8:30-6 with a 30 minute lunch and one day off every other week. I'm not sure if I would rather have Monday or Friday as my day off.
But realistically, I would love to do 9-5:30 with a 30 minute lunch. So many people at my work do a variation of that and I'm so jealous that my manager won't let any of us do a flexible schedule.

It depends on what life SIL Ike at the time. Whatever it is, I prefer working as early as possible. I've done 6:30 to 4 and every other Monday off. I like that schedule the most.
I've done for ten hour days. I only like that if I'm extremely busy work wise and/or life circumstances dictate I need more time off (like I did when my mother was ill and I travelled home frequently)
5/4/9 schedules are good too.
My last job, I was part time and worked three three full days and two half hour days. That was pretty sweet.
I do a 9/80 and that works best for me. An extra hour is too long with the kids every day. One day off every other week lets me get errands done without crowds and have some quiet time while the kids are in school.
I don't do well with defined hours, I need flexible. I am the boss, so I write my own schedule (and everyone else's) . I generally start work at 7:30 when I wake up, then break for shower/commute, get to the office at 9:30-10, leave at 5ish, probably do a little more work in the evening (checking emails at least) Basically, as long as my work is getting done this works for me. And I get the same expectation for everyone else in the office. If someone rolls in at 10, I'm not going to raise an eyebrow, unless they aren't getting their shit done.
When I worked full time with a flexible schedule, I worked M-F 7-3:30. So since I could have picked (almost) anything and picked that, I guess that's my ideal.
