One of my high school teachers started dating one of the seniors right after she graduated and they eventually got married. He actually turned 21 that year(his first year teaching) and she was 18 so not so horrible but icky if you think of the dynamic. I remember her making comments about wanting to get with him, slip into his room on an overnight field trip etc but supposedly they didn't start dating until after she graduated. He only taught there for 2 years before moving on which was "highly encouraged" because of his relationship.
One of my coworkers married her former student. This was four or so years after he graduated. I don't think they had a relationship while he was in school,,and she was with someone else until right before they started dating. Not sure the age difference. ,

I know of a married coach who has a very long term relationship with a (now former) player. The wife either honestly doesn't know or chooses to ignore it.
My former high school coach divorced his wife to marry a player who was 2 years behind me in school. He had two kids with his wife and now has at least one with the new wife.
MIL had an affair with FIL's absolute best friend, then divorced FIL and is now married to the BFF. The first time they all were in the same room again was at our wedding, nobody knew how it would go. FIL despises MIL with the fire of a thousand suns.
When I was student teaching I discovered that my mentor/classroom teacher I was paired with was sleeping with a student. That was incredibly awkward to be around.

My Aunt married her HS English teacher. They waited until after she finished college, but it is suspected that the relationship started while in HS. They're still married 30+ years later.

I worked on a college campus. The director of our department hooked up with then married his student assistant. He was about 60 years old and she was about 24 AND he was married at the time. His wife was blind and very dependent on him. She ended up living with them for about a year
Someone we knew in high school ended up marrying one of the teachers. THere were rumors about them when we were in school. We have no contact with him now, though.

One of my husband's high school friends married his teacher. My husband suspects they were involved while he was still in school. The marriage didn't last long.

My middle school match teacher was convicted of sleeping with students. We were all just in 5th grade then! I don't think that counts as "relationships, though.

Same here, except thanks to the power of Facebook, I know that they're still married, 15 years & several kids later.
There were a couple attorney/incarcerated inmate relationships in our office over the years; most prior to my time. But, right after I started one attorney, who was married to a private defense attorney we all see weekly, shacked up with one of our clients, bailed him out, filed for divorce and married. It was a whole lot of fucking awkwardness, lol.

I grew up with two neighborhood girls, and we were all close friends. Let's call them Ashley and Sarah. Their parents were BFF's... They did family vacations, cookouts, etc together. Then, Ashley's mom cheated with Sarah's dad. Sarah's mom and Ashley's dad find out. Big scandal, both couples divorce, Ashley's mom and Sarah's dad marry. Not long after, Ashley's dad and Sarah's mom get together, and eventually marry. They were all next door neighbors, even as this was going on. One couple still lives there. The other moved to the next neighborhood over.
Also, the valedictorian of my class was all set for a full ride at a prestigious school... Until it came out that she had been dating the baseball coach. They kept it so under wraps during her HS career that no one could find evidence to charge him (the school looked into it). He is still employed there. They are getting married next year after a LONG dating history and engagement. They didn't go public until the summer after she graduated and turned down prestigious scholarship to go to community college and stay with him.
I have friends whose parents were in some of those relationships. A teacher at my high school was fired for rumors of dating a student and a college roommate dated her orgo TA hoping it would help her grade. It didn't.
Just the other day, DH was joking that some psychiatrist marriages come in threes: The first, good marriage. The ridiculously-stupid-marriage to a patient who flatters his narcissistic ego. Then the third, jaded-but-realistic-marriage to someone willing to be a good step mom to both sets of earlier kids.
The priest at my (catholic) church growing up started a relationship with the married church secretary. She left her husband and he left the church, and they got married. It was... a rough time for the church.
My FIL left my MIL for his secretary after he knocked her up with twins.
When I was in 6th grade there was a young priest that joined our school...maybe in his late 20's? A girl that was one year older than me ended up marrying him and now they have 2 kids. She's 35 and he's got to be in his 50's. She was active in the church as a kid (altar server) and I remember her and her brothers hanging out with this priest at functions and things. Now it creeps me out to think about what may have gone on when she was, like, 13. Maybe nothing...but I don't know.....
I had a 32 year old teacher in hs try to start a relationship with me, but I was too naive to see it. I thought all hs history teachers liked to chat online about their relationship issues until 1am and give you passes to hang out in their room all day and offer to come pick you up to hang out at 10pm on a Friday. Obviously nothing happened- I thought I was just mature enough to have an adult friend! Lol.
Apparently something did happen with a student a few years after I graduated and he's no longer a teacher. I still look back and wonder wtf I was thinking.
When I was 25, I decided I didn't like my career and decided to go back to school to get a teaching certificate. I was 25 but had to take a few lower level classes that I had never had to take to get my first degree, such as a public speaking class. I was several years older than the other students and connected more with the 45-ish year old professor than the other 18-19 year old students. About half way through the semester, the prof asked me out. I told him that I would not give any sort of answer, neither yes nor no, until after the semester was over. At the end of the semester, we went out twice. As I got to know him, I realized he just wan't for me. (For one thing, his name was Elvis and he was taking a tap dancing aerobics class. There was no way I could bring myself to date tap dancing Elvis!)
when I told him I didn't think it was going to go anywhere, he got a bit weird. He made it pretty uncomfortable on campus for me for a while.
My BIL married the nanny about a year after his wife died. It was't really scandalous because he was completely devoted to his wife until she died but it was sort of shocking because it seemed to happen out of the blue after my SIL was gone. It was kind of like a Lifetime original movie because my SIL was diagnosed with cancer while she was PG with my nephew. SIL lived for a year after diagnosis and handpicked the nanny to be her child's new mom. She wrote detailed letters to her child, husband and even the nanny for how she wanted her child's life to be. I don't know the private details, but I have wondered to myself if my SIL orchestrated or at least put a hint into my BIL's mind that she would like the nanny to be the new wife and mom. Weird speculation, but it almost seems like that's what happened. The nanny was the younger sister of my BIL's high school friend but it was 15 years later when all this took place. So it wasn't like they picked a random stranger from Craig's List. SIL was very very specific in choosing this woman to come into her house. I have always wondered about it.
I also know a family from a real, honest to God, Lifetime movie. The scandal took place back in the 90's. The mom was a country club wife who put everything she had into moving her husband'so career forward. Then he divorced her and remarried. The first wife kind of went all "how could you do this to me after I made you!" She snuck in and murdered her ex-H and wife while they were in bed. Their kids were pre-teens at the time. The ex-wife has been in jail ever since. My friend is now married to the son. They have a child of their own and I wonder all the time how they will explain where grandma is and what happened to grandpa. They can't hide the truth, once in a while I see the whole story, using real names, on Lifetime at 2am.
Had band director was rumored to have been involved with multiple students over the years. Shortly after I graduated he was caught having sex with a student at a park outside town.
I used to follow this fascinating blog about a girl who had married her recently widowed professor. Her posts about "their love story" were so bizarre.
I just know it to mean "me too". I see it a lot on another board here. I don't really know the origins. I probably should not have used it without knowing. Sorry

A good friend of mine married one of our HS teachers. They started dating after HS when she was 19 and he was 25. She never had him as a teacher but it's still kind of weird when I hang out at their house bc he was my teacher. They are happily married now with kids.
I always hate these threads though bc DH is a HS band director.

We moved away from my hometown when I was in 4th grade. I got a teaching job back in the hometown after college.
My first or 2nd year teaching, I was telling my mom about my new classroom aide who was about my age. My mom said, OMG, do NOT date him.
Apparently one of my dad's many affairs was with this boys mom. This boy or one of his brothers is a result of that. I think it was not this guy, but his older brother, because that one does look like and this kid didnt. Sent from my SM-G900V using proboards
I had a 40 year old boss with 4 kids openly date a very young (23?) clinical resident while he was going through a divorce. Divorce was rough, visitation was a big issue. Boss arranged visitation at work. Wife stabbed boss in the chest with a knife in front of the 4 kids. Wife was arrested and boss recovered.
My sister's ex SIL was 15 when she got pregnant by the father of the family she babysat for. They were later married (when she was 16, her mom was oh so happy to sign off on it) and just separated this past year after 14 or so years of marriage.

PDQ
I have a really good friend (24 at the time) that dated her boss (40 at the time). Neither of them told HR and it ended up becoming an issue when my friend felt that dating the boss gave her some sort of authority over her coworkers. It turned ugly, and they both had to leave their jobs. They got engaged last year, but recently split up.
In my family, my father ended up having an affair with one of my mom's really good friends that lived down the street. My parents split up and my mom's ex-friend has been my snatch of a stepmother for the past 12 years.
Another friend has an even weirder scandalous relationship in his family. When his parents split up, his mother married his grandfather (her ex-FIL). So there are a lot of dual relationships in his family (his grandfather is also his stepfather, etc.).
A girl from high school married our track coach, but it was three years after we graduated. I was gone at that point, so I don't know how soon after graduation they started dating.
A coworker lost his virginity at 14 to his English teacher, but that was, like, 30 years ago.
H has a distant cousin that married her high school teacher, who is older than her father. She claims they started dating after she graduated. They are now divorcing.
