I am going to make H mount an All-In-One for me, I'm tired of lugging my laptop out there.
Since our husbands are in the same industry, I should have known you'd be my spirit animal!
Dave had a customer leave it behind, so he fixed the blown caps and put it in our kitchen for me. BEST IDEA EVER. It was his idea, but I'm stealing it.

I have a friend that works for a kitchen supply company and he gives me all kinds of kitchen stuff. He recently gave me a cutting board and pointed out that this specific groove is so I can chop while I have my tablet there. I just kind of shrugged. I don't want my electronics getting splattered with food.

I'll take a pic and show you. We have a small-ish kitchen so it works with out getting gross. Unless I'm careless, but we have a wireless chicklet keyboard so I can just turn it off and wipe it down.
ETA: Thinking it through.... yeah I'd not want my tablet close to where I was chopping. Not only food splatter, but I'd probably nick the screen with the knife.
We push the monitor/computer all the way back when not in use and the mouse and keyboard are wireless so we just keep them on top of the fridge.
When I was making bread with my kitchenaid, I just slid the keyboard and mouse out of the way so they wouldn't get messy since I can have those anywhere and it still work.
I just use my laptop. I don't see how a laptop could be more easily dirtied than your current set up. In fact, you'd have to scrub down that monitor if my H made spaghetti sauce in your kitchen, lol.
LOL I guess it's far enough away from the eye? We just wipe down the monitor with everything else when we clean.
I don't care if it looks weird. I use it ALL THE TIME.
I used to want one back in the pre-iPhone dark ages, but now I just use my phone. I used the iPad a few times when we first got one, but even that seemed unnecessary. The phone is smaller, and I almost always have it with me anyway, so it makes the most sense.

I'm texting challenged, so I really hate using my phone or tablet at home when I could have a keyboard.

Also, full disclosure, we have a PC in our Entertainment Center cabinet that runs our entire TV/Roku/Media Center, we have Nest thermostat so we control that by smart phone most of the time, and Dave just installed home-automation garage door openers....
If you can't tell, my husband is a BIT of a tech geek.

Just a little!
These are all things that my H/I want when we build. It doesn't make sense to install any techy stuff in our current house because of the area we live in but I want a Nest thermostat so bad. My thoughts on having a computer area in the kitchen is it would also be a family computer/a place for future kids to work where I could monitor them.
I also left out the 8 cam security system that's connected to his smart phone, and our security system is also connected to his smart phone so we can set it from anywhere. Oh and a weather station that reports to wunderground.com....
No, but my bff has a flat screen TV with chromecast. So she can either do recipes or pandora or watch movies. She does a huge cooking day once/month, so it's perfect for her.
My kitchen and living room are in the same space so, kind of? I don't have enough counter space for a setup like that, although if I did and had an old computer I'd do it.
I use the iPad or my phone. I hate using my phone though-it's so small, I always have to scroll up and down a million times. I'd love an under cabinet iPad mount ;and a new iPad lol).
We have a TV in the corner of counters. It comes in handy when we will be in the kitchen for an extended period of time. I'm thinking about buying an Apple TV to hook up to it so we can watch Netflix. I use an ipad or phone for recipes.
