Any chance any of you either own or have experience with the Manhattan sofas from pottery barn? I've had the club chair for a few years now, but have yet to commit to any sofa! (Using a cheap uncomfortable Ikea love seat in the meantime)
So i was thinking of just getting the matching sofa and being done with it. But then I was reading a lot of reviews online saying PB furniture is poor quality and that CB or RB are better. Which then opened me up to all kinds of other choices. I've never spent more than $1k on furniture before so a sofa seems like a huge commitment.
I just can't get behind PB furniture mainly for the price and the name brand. There are so many knock offs for less $. TBS, I don't own any of their furniture except for a kids craft table and it's ok. I also don't think the sofa and chair have to match but that's just personal prefrence. If you want them to match to for it. My mom has a Crate&Barrel sofa that has been great, it has washable slip covers.
Yea, I avoid PB furniture unless I get a great deal on it. I feel like you are paying for the name. Check out your local furniture stores. I am not a fan of things matching, so I wouldn't feel I HAD to get the matching PB couch.
Super stupid question alert: At a local furniture store do you negotiate, or is the listed price the final price? Except for my one chair, all my furniture until this point is IKEA.

I've never tried it, but I know people who negotiate for everything and have gotten furniture store discounts just by asking.....either if they offer any discounts or if that is their best price.
I do know that it helps if you are buying more than one item, or sometimes they give discounts for cash/check over credit. Those are the kinds of things that DH usually asks.
