Fluffy question time. If you kept doing your own pedicures well into 2nd/3rd tri, how did you most comfortably do it? I just redid mine, and I was surprised to find how much harder it was to reach at 20 weeks than last time at 18 or so! (I shudder to think about next time.) I tried sitting on the floor, feet up on the tub edge, etc.
Or, alternatively, at what point did you give up and decide to just go get a pedi when needed? I almost never do that (I could probably count professional pedicures in my life on one hand) but desperate times might call for desperate measures in coming summer weeks.
My belly isn't huge but I'm at 33 weeks and just had to touch up my toenails for a wedding.
I found that sitting in a lowish chair and propping one foot on top of the other knee works. Your foot is on quite an angle and to be honest it's not the best job I've ever done on the smaller toes but it got the job done yesterday.
From here on out I'll be booking appointments I think.
I am about to give up and I am only 26 weeks. That's only about 3 or 4 pedis that I would need until delivery, and my bday is coming up, so I asked for gift cards.
But, when I have been doing it, I use toe separators that leave a lot of space to get to my toes. I either sit in a chair or use the sink, and I bring my bent leg way over to the side of my belly and kind of lean around the belly.
Shaving is becoming a real pain too because we just have a shower and no ledge to put my leg on, so I have to lean over and somehow around the belly. I can't imagine what the next weeks are going to bring!

I tried to do this last week. I gave up and went to the nail salon. I was able to do them sitting on the floor until about 26 weeks with my knees sorta out to the side.
Yeah, this is my one indulgence. I don't wear makeup or get my hair done or color my hair. So my mom, aunt, and I get pedicures every 6 weeks or so. Worth it in my opinion.
Yeah, I gave myself one maybe 2 weeks ago (33 weeks) I need to go tomorrow and that will probably be it until after baby. I just can't contort my body like that anymore.

Well, I stopped working at 32 weeks (teacher), and was able to poorly slap some nail polish on my toes for the last 2 weeks of the school year when it was warm enough for sandals, but since then, I've gone pro. I never pay for pedicures when not pg, but have decided I want my toes to look nice at delivery, lol, especially b/c I ignored this (and sort-of regretted it) with my other kids. I have about 3 weeks to go.
I don't think I've had nail polish on my toes since 20 weeks. It's hell enough to clip them. I can't tolerate someone besides myself touching my feet, so pedicures are a no go. I involuntary kick when someone has my feet.
Lol there is no way I can do my own feet at this stage. The other day when I tried to put on socks I had to have my SD help me because it was so uncomfortable to reach my feet.
lol. So what I am hearing is that there is no shame in giving up and indulging in a professional pedi after not too many more DIY attempts. Excellent.
Normally I don't want a full pedi because I don't want them touching my hard-earned running callouses, but I've lost those anyway in the past few months
