Disagreement at the stars household.
Neighbor invited both of us to come over for a little while to plan a block party in the neighborhood. House is right down the hill from us, approximately 2-3 minute walk from our front door. Monitor is likely in range (haven't tried it in neighbor's house but did take it to the bottom of our driveway which is about the same distance). We are the last house in a dead end neighborhood and can see our house and driveway from the neighbor.
Would you be comfortable leaving your sleeping toddler in our house to go to neighbors with your monitor? Photo below is from or front steps. Neighbor lives in blue house just to the left of the middle of the photo.
Ha ha. No, but I'm not really breezy about leaving my kid in the house alone. I have wifi monitor and lots of nearby things and have actually considered it once to go to the corner Walgreens to get milk. But still no.

For the record, I'm the one that thinks it's a crazy idea and H thinks it would be NBD. We won't do it because he knows I would be too nervous (he's making fun of me though...) but I also feel weird hiring a babysitter to go next door for a couple of hours. We don't know these neighbors well so I am also worried that they will judge us if we leave her up here alone
Tad too far. And I HAVE gone to the neighbors house w the monitor before but they are RIGHT across a normal suburban neighborhood street. It would take me less than 30 seconds to get to my house.
countthestars don't hesitate to hire a sitter. I babysat for a neighbor while they were in the house nextdoor at a party. Whatever makes you comfortable.
I have no problem going to my neighbors (BFF) house with the monitor and my doors locked. But our houses are a lot closer together than what you're showing. And we're usually sitting in her front porch, facing my house. I don't think I'd feel comfortable in your situation.
